บท 52: Chapter:52 Potential Dangers

The doorknob was twisted open, making a subtle click sound resound throughout the room. Erik entered the room and closed the door behind him before placing the book in his hands on the table beside the bed.
He had just separated from Mayumi and others and had checked in on the room designated for his use.
The hotel was a well-known establishment controlled by the organizers of the biggest High-school Event.
The quality and maintenance of the room were quite high, providing a rather comfortable expression for the participants.
The hotel also had multiple training fields, for each of the nine-schools to practice in privacy.
Erik sat down on the bed and laid on his back with his eyes covered by his right hand. The bus ride was pretty standard and nothing happened on their way to the hotel.
'As expected, [No head Dragon] hadn't been able to infiltrate the competition until now. From what information I have gathered up until now, it is clear that the competition would be free of foreign influence for the next year at the very least.....'
'Well, it works in my favour then.....'
'I wouldn't need to do pest control after all.....'
'Mei has informed Major Kazama about the [Blanche] growing influence within the [First-High School]....'
'According to the information, Major also wanted to go with the wait and see approach for the time being and find as much information as we can.....'
'Due to the contract between my family and the government, no other than a few individuals like Major Kazama would know about this information until we decide to share the information.....'
'Even the department headed by Major Kazama has no idea about this information...'

'So he is finally here huh?.....'
Erik moved his hands covering his eyes and stood up from the bed, he moved towards the door and opened it.
"You wanted to discuss something?..."
"Yes, come inside, I have some information to share with you....."
On the other side of the door stood a behemoth of a man, excluding a powerful pressure which seemed to have become even denser than before.
Katsuto entered the room and Erik closed the door behind him, he points towards the chairs placed near the window.
"Have a seat, Katsuto. The things we will be discussing is of great importance and I would appreciate your help in the matter...."
"Hmm.....the matter must be quite serious if you are attaching the word 'Great Importance' to it?...."
Katsuto had a serious expression of his face as he patiently waited for Erik to inform him about the vital information he had. Unlike others, Katsuto was well aware of what Erik could "truly" do with his power.
He had witnessed a portion of Erik's Magic on the day Daichi died, nothing was left of the latter, not even a speck of dust could be found after that blinding light encompassed the whole Opera.
Now, something was bothering Erik and it didn't seem like a good thing at all.
"Indeed, from what information I have gathered. [Blanche], a side-syndicate of [No Head Dragon], has managed to infiltrate our high school and are slowing increasing their influence among the students..."
Erik sat across Katsuto and briefed him about the school situation.
"Now, me being a member of [Student Council] puts an eye on my actions and we are not ready to confront them yet, so I would like your assistance in monitoring the students deemed suspicious....."
"You are a member of [Club Management Committee], so they wouldn't be watching you which acts as a perfect cover for our plan....."
"My family has already talked with the military, they support the plan and will be on stand by until we have obtained all the information we can from them..."
"After that, we will first make sure that the students are safe before uprooting the syndicate once and for all..."
Hearing Erik's words, Katsuto's eyes widened in surprise before multiple questions popped up in his head.
"I am willing to help, that wouldn't be a problem but don't you think that letting a criminal syndicate infect the student's mind is not a good way to go?..."
"[Blanche] is an opportunist syndicate, if they are infiltrating the school then they would probably exploit the differences between Course-1 and Course-2 students..."
"They would bait them with the assurance of equality while twisting their mind-set to fit their own ideas....."
Katsuto immediately caught a root problem with the plan, the influence was a very dangerous thing and [Blanche] was a very dangerous syndicate.
"Yes, I am well aware of the potential dangers of the plan..."
"That why we have decided to limit the time we have to collect the necessary information before we attack. In one year, we will lay waste to the syndicate regardless if we have all the information we wanted....."
"Hmm.....this could work, to successfully manipulate the students and affect their mindset, it will take at least 2-years. We can work with these conditions..."
Katsuto nodded his head, agreeing to Erik's plan. Even though he didn't want the syndicate to even touch a single student of the school, he knew that it had to be done.
For a better end...
"You have told anyone else about this? Mayumi? Mari? Suzune?....."
Erik had a frown on his face as he shook his head replying to Katsuto's question while thinking about the possible outcomes of this matter.
"No, Mari is too emotionally involved in this matter, I don't see any benefit in disclosing this information to Su-chan, and as for Mayumi..."
"It's better if we keep this matter to ourselves....."
"I want them to focus on the event rather than thinking about the potential dangers in the school. Winning the competition is our first priority."
"Hmm...agreed."
"Very well then, you should go and prepare for the party later tonight, after 'that' incident, I am sure that many students from other schools would surely annoy you....."
Katsuto flinched before letting out a tired sigh, the majesty of Monarch was still around him, unshaken like a mountain.
"Sigh...indeed, you are correct."
The behemoth stood up from the chair before walking towards the door, he stopped just before twisting the doorknob, opening the door.
He turned his head a little, watching Erik from the corner of his eyes.
"All the best for [Icicle Destruction]....."
"Hmm...."
