บท 302: WASH AWAY

Night descended, enshrouding the mansion in darkness. Lexine was seated in the dining area, cuddled inside her blankets. There was a large mug in her hands, half filled with hot chocolate and marshmallows. She held a novel titled 'A SEARCH FOR THE TRUTH' in her hands, silently reading. The dining area was silent, with only the constant flipping of pages.

As she was nearly finishing her hot chocolate, the door to the dining area was pushed open. Inside walked Leilani. She was wearing a heavy jacket and warm fuzzy slippers on her feet. "Lexie. What are you doing here?" she pulled her jacket over her chest as she spoke.

Lexine looked up, "Auntie." She nodded at her. "I was just reading this book." She raised the novel that was in her hands. "I don't have a phone, so it was boring in my bedroom. I found this though." She waved the book in her hands.
