"Wait. Were you thinking that I didn't want to take any action for HIM?" Maya stared at Aiden with shock and started laughing. 

Looking at her laughing at his words, it was now that Aiden was regretting saying his thoughts out loud. 

He tilted his head away from Maya, barely being able to hide his embarrassment, "I just thought that you did not want to harm that worthless man Lucas. Wasn't that the case?" 

Maya smiled looking at Aiden's restless eyes. She slowly asked him back, "And why would I do that? We are over for good, why would I want to 'protect' him anymore?"

"Uh- I don't know." He shrugged and said avoiding her eyes. 

"Aiden, has anyone ever told you that you are a really bad liar?" A laugh escaped from Maya's mouth.

She could clearly see the words 'I KNOW BUT I DON'T WANT TO SAY IT OUT LOUD' written all over on his embarrassed face.
