It had been a couple of months since my second meeting with Dabi, and nothing had really happened since then, I had continued to investigate Endeavor and collect enough proof to at least take him out of the hero circuit, I was going to ruin his reputation, and career.
My current goal was to get in touch with all of his children and get them to speak about what he had done to them and get Rei Todoroki, the wife of Endeavor, out of the psychiatric hospital she was currently imprisoned into. It would be the final nail in the coffin for the flaming hero.
I know that it would be a big hit to the heroes, the number two hero revealed of being an abusive dad, but All Might and I (Knockout) were still active and there was no shortage of heroes to replace him. I just hoped that it would be before All Might will be forced to retire, I knew that he had been getting a lot weaker lately, but I'm pretty sure he had found a successor already, but he wouldn't be ready before a couple of years (I learned that his quirk could be passed when I saw him and simply used Quirk Vision on him).
If it was too big of a hit to society and villainy was rising, I guess I would just have to be more active and efficient as Knockout, maybe reveal another quirk, but honestly, it would be surprising. Because I didn't need to sleep often, I could work as a Vigilante all night and be my normal self during the day, so I patrolled between 8 and 12 hours a day. Add to that my information network, my affinity and my quirks, and the number of criminals I was bringing to the police was impossibly high. Especially since I focused on bringing down villain groups, as they were harder for the heroes to dismantle.
On the other hand, even since we had started on working to bring Endeavor down, Dabi had become a Vigilante, I think it was more out of gratefulness than anything, as I wouldn't've been surprised if he turned to villainy in order to destroy his father, but it was still nice to see another Vigilante, and a powerful one at that.
Also, ever since I had started to investigate Endeavor, I had learned a lot about the "dark side" of heroics, the overwhelming corruption, hypocrisy and "unfairness" of the hero association. In retrospect, it isn't really surprising and I was a bit naïve about heroes being good and everything, I guess I never really spent the time inspecting and investigating them and stuck with the popular opinion of heroes being good and honest. That was definitely a new target of mine, as a bad hero could do much more damage than a villain. Also, it would make people criticize more the heroes, which wasn't a bad thing, as people rarely had second thoughts about heroes and just accepted their actions as the "right" thing to do.
Furthermore, I had done something that I should've done a long time ago, but it what really urged me to do it was the rumors I was hearing right now in the underworld, of people losing their quirks and All for One returning. There was nothing official, but even those rumors made people feel a sense of fear and apprehension, the very mention of the name All for One being enough to terrify most villains.
What really sealed the deal, though, was that Giran had been contacted by the League of Villains, the organization that All for One had supposedly created, in order to gather villains. It was one of the only instances where I had directly told Giran not to work with a group of individuals, as it was extremely dangerous. One deal with them, and he would be trapped, working with them forever. If One for All was really back, it meant things were going to change, I expected a big commotion, so I needed to get even stronger. Thankfully, he had listened to me and he wouldn't be doing business with them anytime soon.
For now, though, I had bought a quirk that made me feel much more secure: Soul.
Soul (666): All of user's present and future quirks are now contained in user's "soul". The soul is the presentation of user's consciousness. User no longer has a quirk factor nor quirk energy, and any external sources that might affect user's quirk no longer work. User can transfer his soul between clones of himself or other soulless bodies, though some bodies might be incompatible. If user is killed, his soul will also die.
It was basically a lot of text and seemed really strong, but it wasn't that much. The only thing that it did was that my quirks could no longer be erased, copied, or stolen, or affected by anything really, but that was also a curse, anything external sources that could strengthen my quirks wouldn't work, and I couldn't be given quirks. I was also considered quirkless, technically speaking, and it was quite funny, since I had dozens of quirks.
Before, Eraserhead could erase one of my quirks of his choice with his quirk, Erasure, which was honestly pretty annoying and since I, as Raiko Shuzenjii, the genius, had joined the police, I had a lot more pressure on me, the Vigilante me. I'm sure that with enough time I would be able to concoct a plan that would make the police finally capture me, and I wasn't taking that chance. It would still be immensely ironic, being arrested because of your own plan.
There was also that part where I could transfer my soul between clones and bodies, but I knew (I don't know how, call it intuition), that it would take hours and require my total concentration, as well as special equipment, in order to do so, so it absolutely couldn't be done in a fight or if I was in a hurry. Also, the body needed to be compatible or else it could maybe reject my soul, and I didn't know what would happen if my soul was rejected, so I wouldn't try to transfer myself on anything other than my own clones anytime soon. It could still be potentially useful, I my main body someday caught an (even my all of my qurks) incurable sickness or if I was severely poisoned, or simply if I was injured and didn't want to heal myself (or couldn't). Also, if I could create younger clones of myself, I would be immortal (in the sense that I wouldn't die of old age). Overall, it was a nice safety if anything truly unexpected happened.
I had learned to make clones with Limb Infestation not long ago, so it was a perfect timing to buy this new quirk.
A/N: The quirk was pretty cheap, and, as a result, isn't that powerful. It's mainly for the first ability, being immune to cancelling of stealing of quirks, but the second one could also be potentially useful, as it is a way to make oneself not age anymore. You readers have been pestering me about this for ages, so I got it now it's actually useful to the MC.
So now I only had one thing left to get, regeneration, and it would come soon. When I would have it, I don't think that there would be anything in this world that would be able to kill me. But overconfidence and arrogance are the quickest way to die, so I'll stay cautious til then.
Another event had happened during these few months, as I had met the little girl (remember, the one with the overpowered sound quirk) and she definitely took my advice to heart, she was much stronger than before, it had been a few years since I last saw her, but I had a photographic memory, so I remembered our first meeting perfectly, and she definitely remembered when I had saved her, because I'm pretty sure I'm her idol. Did I just get my first diehard fan? I don't think I'm ready for hordes of fangirls.
Back to the matter at hand, on my second meeting with the "not so little girl anymore", I had learned that she had taken my advice at heart, which was a very good thing, she had trained herself relentlessly, but I had also said that she could be a hero with training, and since she had trained herself, she had considered herself ready to become a hero.
Simply speaking, because of my advice a couple years ago, a girl had mastered her overpowered quirk so she was now pretty powerful, and a Vigilante… What have I done?
I was sure that I had published this chaptr yesterday, but apparently it stayed in my draft so there is it. Sorry. Still, because of this there's two chapter today.
Really minor change, but I made the girl’s quirk have 2000 more quirk levels (now it 7134 instead 5134). Also, I need a name for her, so you guys choose, cause I’m bad at naming.
