January 13th, at around 1 PM (11 years before cannon)
A boy, around 4 years old, could be seen walking toward a Quirk Test Center with both his parents in tow. He had wild black hair and blue eyes, a very cute face, but his skin was a little pale. Not so surprisingly, he looked like the chibi version of the man that was following him, his dad.
Although his demeanor was calm and collected, excitement was written all over his face as he approached the building.
There was a good reason for his excitement, as today was the day he would know what his quirk was, and if he had any at all, as it was Raiko's, the boy, fourth birthday today and, having lived in the world of quirk research and analysis since he was very little, he was very excited about what his quirk would be and it's possible uses.
Right as the group of three entered the stern and old looking building, the boy's mom, a tall brunette with, although she was smiling, a serious look on her face, said:
-Raiko, are you excited? Today is the day, we will finally know what you quirk is! Given what are both your parent's quirks, you could get anything really. But don't worry the doctor we are going to see is a good friend of mine, if your quirk is dangerous or villainous no one will know about it except us.
There was one word that she spat with anger and disdain, "villainous" as, in her opinion, they were no good or bad quirks, only good or bad users, and she had seen enough quirk users to know that.
You see, Raiko's mother, Emyu Shuzenji, was one of Japan's most known and respected quirk theorist/scientist. Her quirk, "Quirk Vision", allowed her to "see" quirks. She could instantly know what a person's quirk was and their quirk levels (AP) were simply by looking at them. This was due to the fact that she could see Quirk Energy, the Energy behind all quirks.
Obviously, she had multiple times worked with the police or heroes, due to her being able to identify the villain's quirks, and their possible weaknesses easily, but she wasn't a hero or didn't want to be one, her passion and lifegoal was to discover exactly how and why quirks were.
You might be wondering why she didn't simply use her quirk to see what her son's quirk was, and that's the interesting part, she couldn't see what it was. She knew that Raiko had a quirk, but she couldn't tell what it was, only that it had 2190 Quirk Levels (AP). It was the first time that she had seen something like this, she could always identify quirks before.
Also, quirks over 2000 AP were generally strong quirks, her own quirk being "only" 1568 AP after all, so she was even more curious about what her son's quirk was. Another thing that puzzled her was that, ever since he was born, Raiko's quirk levels were steadily augmenting, growing faster each year. With all her experience as a quirk analyst, theorist and scientist, this was the first time that she had seen something like this. You might be thinking that she would be experimenting on her own child like a mad scientist (or Endeavor), but she had morals god dammit, she would never do that.
The reason she had brought him to this Quirk Test Center today was to see if they someone could discover what Raiko's quirk was and, if they didn't discover it, they would put him as Quirkless until he "awakened" it.
Raiko's father, Orkyo Shuzenji, was a well known and respected doctor in Japan, having multiple times saved the life of Heroes and important people in grave danger. His quirk, Life Energy Manipulation, allowed him to accumulate Life Energy and then discharge it in himself or someone else's body to accelerate healing or maintain someone alive. Contrarily to his mother's, Chyio Shuzenji aka Recovery Girl, quirk, it didn't exhaust people when he used his quirk, as he used his own life energy to heal others.
The couple was fairly young, both of them were only a little over 30 years old, but were already well respected among their fields of expertise had great influence.
Back to where we were, as Raiko and his parents entered the Quirk Test Center, a receptionist quickly came toward them and told them, not an ounce of emotion in her voice:
"Dr. Shibuzo is expecting you. Please follow me."
And then, without sparing another glance at them, promptly left, the trio following her.
When they entered the doctor's office, a frail old man with sparse grey hair and a kind smile on his face, looking in his seventies, approached Raiko's mom and tightly hugged her.
"Ah, Emyu, it's been too long since the last time I saw you. You wouldn't abandon your poor uncle, would you?"
Looking at the lack of reaction of the person he was talking too, he shook his head and continued.
"Young people, these days… Oh, and is that the little Raiko, I see he got his looks from his father. I imagine you're here to get the boy's quirk registered, I'm curious to know what it is, considering both your quirks."
Emyu sighed and got out of his embrace before saying:
"You see, that's the problem, I don't know what his quirk is. I can see that he has one, and that it has a quirk level of over 2000, but I can't identify it… I thought that you could help me discover what his quirk is. I only know that his quirk levels started to augment when he was one year old and that his quirk only became active today."
"That's interesting, it's the first time that you couldn't identify a quirk, he mumbled, before facing Raiko. Boy, can you feel something inside yourself, filled with energy and waiting to be used, like another limb that you never knew you had."
Raiko closed his eyes, frowning for a couple of seconds before suddenly opening them wide.
"I just felt something! It was like energy? And it was gold! It was flowing through me, and I felt that could be anything I wanted, you know? It was wonderful! Also, I felt a number, 2190, though, I have no idea why. And I don't know what that means…"
If Raiko's mother was curious before, now she was shocked. Golden energy was exactly how she saw Quirk Energy, and 2190 was his Quirk Level, but she had never told him that. But what interested her was when her son said "that could be anything I wanted". She had a theory about what it could be, and she was going to test it right now. If she was right, her son probably hit the jackpot of the quirk lottery.
She knelt down to Raiko eye's level and said:
"You know my quirk very well, do you Raiko?"
He nodded.
"Now imagine that all this golden energy is now my quirk, can you? I know I'm not very clear but I know you can do it."
The two men in the room were now watching the scene a bit excited and a bit confused as Raiko closed his eyes once again and something that shocked his mother to the core happened. She saw, with her quirk, his quirk levels drop down to 622, for a couple of seconds before it rose once again to 2190, a new quirk appearing with it. It was "Quirk Vision (1568)" and it had the exact same effects as her quirk.
Now this was interesting…
First fanfic, tell me what you think, I had this idea in my head for a while, as the MC's quirk would be awesome in anybody's hand, but it will truly shine with what I have planned for the MC.
While being extremely overpowered, you probably have figured out that he cannot create quirks as he wishes, but don't worry, he will get quirk levels (AP) increasingly faster.
Also, if someone manages to figure out how I gave him his quirk levels (AP), I will drop an extra chapter (:
Ps: I dropped several hints throughout this chapter.
PPs: And another hint in this author's note
