The Kito Jungle.
Northern Plains.
Lin Hamill was slowly moving into the deeper parts of the forest. What he wished to do was to avoid enemies as much as he can. He wanted his opponents to fight amongst themselves until the number decreased. Most of the participants, save for Luke, were second years or third years, meaning they likely had more experience and power than Lin. The best thing to do when facing opponents more experienced and stronger than you is to not fight them head-on.
Even if he had dual magic powers, that didn't mean that his opponents were weaker. And he couldn't even use his other power in the match, which made it even harder.
'Lindon might've said that he has control over the broadcasting, but that didn't mean that I can just showcase my powers. The people I'm fighting with will definitely see my powers and could inform others. That's a risk I'm not willing to take.'
So what to do?
There was no guarantee that his opponents wouldn't find him. He wasn't relying too much on his heightened senses to help him out because others would most likely have more powerful senses than him. They are in fact higher in level than him, so might as well make that assumption.
'Well, I sure hope this'll work.'
He told himself as he moved forward, burning the plants in front of him to make a path to walk.
GRRR!!
A sudden growl resonated within the whole forest, forcing Lin to stop in his tracks. He looked at the direction from where the growl was heard, and a small smirk crept across his face.
Gotcha!

The Kito Jungle.
Southwestern Plains.
Luke wasn't enjoying his first tournament experience all too much. Being pampered from a young age by his mother, he had always been completely unable to take care of himself, needing his servants to help him out most of the time. That's why, even thinking about walking in a dense forest filled with filth, dirt, and bugs made him want to throw up. But he had to try his best in the tournament. He had been not the strongest amongst his generation, but he was the strongest kid in the Hamill family before Lin awakened. His family not being part of the main branch had meant that it would be highly unlikely they would be considered a possible successor of the Hamill family legacy and it's inheritance. But, apart from Lin, he was the only other kid of the new generation as most of the elders weren't able to conceive children. This made him to be looked at as a possible candidate as the successor, as Lin was, at the time not a Gifted.
But that was until Lin's awakening. Lin Hamill, who was the son of Edward Hamill and Ellie Hamill was part of the inner family and the main branch. His father was also one of the main figureheads of the entire family, so naturally his awakening had caused a shift in opinion on who was to be the next successor. Luke felt like fate was playing a cruel joke on him. Just when he thought that he would be the next head of the family, Lin came along and stole the limelight from him. He had been devastated by this. But he didn't want to give up, and wanted to prove to the elders in the family that he too should be a viable candidate for the family's future.
"Oy, look who it is. If it isn't one of the Hamills? It must be my lucky day to meet such a great person from a great family." A sudden sneering voice snapped Luke out of his memories, making him jump back and get in a defensive position. He then pointed his hands at the direction where the voice came from.
"Oy, where are you pointing kid?" The voice that was heard from far away a moment ago, now came from behind him. In a panic, Luke turned his body only to be faced with a side kick from the enemy. His face was pummeled by the powerful kick, smashing him down on the ground with its force. He rolled on the ground for some time before stopping.
"Oy, is that all the next generation of the Hamill family has to offer?" The voice continued his berating, not even giving face to one of the most powerful families to ever exist in all of Korea, leading audiences who were watching the broadcast to wonder who that person was.
"Oh! That's Daniel Kang, son of Tiger Kang, the CEO of Keypal Inc., one of the leading companies in infrastructure in the world." An spectator who recognised the face on the screen, enlightened the audience.
"Oh, so that's why he acts like he doesn't care about the wrath of the mighty Hamill family." People who didn't understand why he was berating the family without a care now felt like they figured out the reason. It was because Daniel's family was also, if not more wealthy than the Hamill family.
Luke who was heavily injured had gotten up already, and understood who his opponent was at first glance, unlike the audience. He, like Lin, had done his research on his opponents and had studied them intensely before the match started. He looked at his opponent and forced himself to get focused.
Daniel Kang. A third year at Drakon Academy, Daniel is a user of Earth magic and a damn good one at that. He had participated in last year's tournament as well, placing at fifth in the end. Apart from his talents in magic, he was also proficient in martial arts.
'Of all the people, why do I have to face this guy?'
Luke was cursing in his mind at his rotten luck. Daniel Kang is a monster who enjoys beating the crap out of people. Fighting him meant that Luke had basically sealed his fate. He had absolutely no chance in winning against Daniel, at least not face to face.
'Should I try to run?' He thought of running, but he had no confidence to outrun Daniel.
'What to do?'
