Inside of Kor City dome's border
The sky above is covered with darkness as the moon hid behind the dark clouds hovering high up in the sky. It was already around 1 am in the morning and a figure can be seen crouching on the ground with a small gardening hoe and a sharp machete in his hands.
The figure would go to and fro as a smile crept on his face while doing such a menial thing. His heart would feel calm while harvesting the rare herbs and fruits that can be seen on the border.
Curt Nilfiem would be the only person in the city that would do such a thing.
He didn't know why the people in the city would neglect such a bountiful place. But for him, this place is like the paradise of herbs filled with LEP energy. He even got his hands on a 50-year-old mutated purple snake flower.
Although it is dark, Curt is able to use LEP in his eyes to sharpen his eyesight. It's like having a flashlight vision as he wades through the darkness while searching for plants and herbs.
Not long later, his modified large backpack is already filled with herbal plants. He even killed some mutated beast and put their carcass in a sack which he hands on his side. Contented of his harvest, Curt decided to head back.
And so, he soon reached the military encampment. When the soldiers saw his figure they were all alarmed, however after seeing that it was the young man who asks permission to go to the dome border, they all heave a sigh of relief.
"Hey, you're still alive… I guess what they said about you are true… Haha…" one of the soldiers laughed.
"Yeah, there are no strong animals in those borders, so it's fine," Curt replied with a nod.
He then removes the bloody sack on his side and threw it to the ground.
"I hope you guys like snakes and crabs…"
When the soldiers heard his words, everyone turns their gaze at the big sack on the ground. One of them immediately walked towards the sack and opened it.
What the soldier saw made his eyes went wide in disbelief.
"These are… are you really giving us these things? I mean… if you…"
"Nah… they're all yours, it's my thanks for letting me go out even though it's already this late."
"Haha… no worries… no worries…" the soldiers immediately chimed in.
"Hey, where did you get these?"
"Ow… just over there near the dome… but… I suggest you guys not to go there. If you use rifles and those beasts heard the sound, they would gang up on you."
"Really? You mean there are a lot of beasts in that area."
"Hmm… not that much, but they tend to stay in their territories and protect them, so…. It would be hard to face them head-on."
"Anyway, thanks for these… oh are you also going out tonight?"
"Yes, see you guys then…"
"Alright, alright… Hahaha… Damn, I can't wait to taste these succulent meats…"
The soldiers took the large sack and were baffled to discover that it actually weighs around 200 kilos. They are now sure that the young man is an esper with an augmented strength power. Plus they were amazed at the sturdiness of the sack.
Curt just walked back towards the store, since his boss and his wife have already gone home he just entered the backdoor. After making sure that everything was locked, he began to excitedly compound the medicine he needed for the woman at the hospital.
He promised her that he would make sure that she would be healed and the medicine he is going to make made his heart feels really excited.
Curt pours out all his concentration in making the herbal concoction. After refining the herbs and plants, he then began the most grueling process of compounding and medicine into pills.
Although he knew alchemy, within his mind he also knew science. With two knowledge combined and using the modern alchemical set that his boss bought, he began to compound the medicine using two methods.
It was already 4 a.m. when he was done. And now on the table, 3 bottles with 5 pinkie-sized pills are lined up. He even put a label on them which reads Mrs. Lim's cancer medicine.
He then just lay on the couch at the side and fell asleep. He now felt really tired after the long night, and his body was really drained of all the LEP energy. And so he just closes his eyes and fell asleep.
When Boss Lan and his wife enter the store not long later, they saw the light in the back room open. The couple saw Curt sprawled on the sofa and he is still wearing his lab gown.
"This child…" Boss Lan just shook his head as he carefully took a blanket and drape it over Curt.
"He is working really hard don't you think?" Mae Lan said with a concerned look in her eyes.
"Sigh… this boy has a dream. And after helping me, I discover that he is hiding a lot of talent. He might even be a newly awakened esper." Boss Lan said as he walked towards the counter along with his wife.
"If that is so, then why don't we let him study in esper college. That way his future would be boundless."
"Sigh… I already told him that, but he said that it's useless. He already has a goal and as a man, I must respect him. In fact, I truly think even without going to Esper College, his future is already boundless."
The two talked for a while as they discussed Curt, every now and then the couple would chuckle upon thinking of what the young man has been doing and has done for them. The two are truly touched and has already treated Curt as part of their family in their hearts.
The morning sun is already high up in the sky and a piece of big news was spread throughout the city that night. It is said that a group of assassins was found dead on a street and a couple of local gang members are also sent to the nearby Provincial Hospital.
One of the gang members even died in that place which made the authority thinks that the gang and the assassins faced against each other. And because of the number of gang members, the assassins were defeated and killed in that fight.
The ten men clad in black were discovered to be members of Black Viper assassin. They are well-known for their lethality and proficiency in killing. Even espers would not be able to escape their blade. And they are wanted by the authorities in all the cities, towns, and villages in the country of Phil.
And since 10 of them were killed in Kor city, the authorities are expecting the group to retaliate. And so the authorities immediately sent a request for the military to intervene in this case.
"Damn it! How could those bastards be this useless!" a young man loudly roared as he tore apart the local newspaper in his hand.
"Jenny Mae… your luck is really awesome… Hahaha… I will never stop hunting you until I get my revenge." The young man said in anger.
While the commotion in the city is happening, one of the true culprits is currently in his dreamland. He is currently happily dreaming about his own future and of course the woman he loves. One can even see a smile on his face and he would sometimes giggle on his sleep.
When Boss Lan noticed this, he immediately called his wife.
"Look, look! I think he is dreaming of something naughty… Hehe…" Boss Lan said with a mischievous chuckle.
Tonk!!!
The sound of something hitting someone's head echoed followed by the grimacing look on Boss Lan's face as he robs the top of his head in pain.
"Ouch! Do you have to hit my head that hard?" Boss Lan complained as he rubs his head.
"Do you think Curt is like you? He is a gentle young man…" Mae Lan said while glaring at her husband.
"Hehe… honey, you don't know us guys… we…"
The two began to once again banter with a happy atmosphere in the air.

1 o'clock pm, in the private room of the Provincial Hospital
Doctor Vince Gale is currently checking the condition of his patient Nancy Lim. He is already worried as Curt said that she would feel the pain coming back after a day, and it's already 1 p.m. hence he is feeling a bit flustered right at this moment.
Jinxiao Lim is also worried as he paces back and forth while waiting for the result. The only one who is not worried is Nancy Lim who just lay on the hospital bed while looking at the two men in the room. She just gave them a perfunctory smile while thinking of the young man who made her feel assured.
In fact, she is not worried. It was as if she has blind faith in the young man. She is sure that he would deliver and would keep his promise.
And so the time ticks by and soon the sun has started to go down the horizon. Right now, there is another doctor standing on the side besides Doctor Gale. She was the woman who also saw the miraculous thing that happened to Curt that night.
"Why is it taking him so long to get here?" the female doctor asked.
"Hmm… should I go to the store?" Doctor Gale muttered.
"Store? What store?"
"No never mind…" he said while waving his hands.
"Hmm… you seem to have been on duty for the whole day, aren't you tired?" Doctor Gales suddenly asked after noticing something.
"Haha… that's my secret, my friend…" the female doctor said while she unconsciously strokes her neckline.
She knew that with that thing she would feel tired and fatigued anymore. In fact, she has more than 5 pieces of it. She was happy to have visited her aunt yesterday and her aunt gave it to her as a gift. At first, she was skeptical even after her aunt's explanation, but now she already knew of its wondrous effect. If she didn't visit her aunt she would never have discovered that there is such a miraculous object. She decided to visit her aunt's store tomorrow and buy more.
Doctor Gale just gave her a glance and his eyes went to the hospital room's door. He has already waited for the whole day for Curt to arrive but he is still not here. This made him worry too much for the sake of his patient.
Suddenly, a groan can be heard as Nancy Lim's expression changes while lying on the patient's bed.
