บท 5: She's here!
<Rick POV>
When he woke up, Rick found himself in an unknown room, beside him, stood an African-American man that wait for him to wake up.
Seeing that Rick was waking up, the man hurriedly asked Rick about his wound.
"How did you get that wound? Was it a bite?"
"Bite? No, it is a gunshot that made the wound."
"Don't try to lie to me man. Do you have a fever?"
"I swear on my honor that I didn't lie about my wound. I'm a police officer and I got shot on a mission. As for the fever, no I didn't have one. Or at least I don't remember having one."
"If I found that you lied…I'll kill you.
After he said that, the man cut Rick's restrains, letting him free.
"My name is Morgan Jones and this is my son Duane." Said Morgan while he pointed his finger at his son.
"My name is Rick, Rick Grimes .I'm or I was a police officer."
Now that they know each other names, Morgan invited Rick to eat with them.
At the meal, Morgan and Rick continue to talk about what happened. Rick found the fact the world had ended rather unbelievable, but the fact that the dead now roam the world is still a valid point.
Suddenly, Duane said that she had come again. Rick got confused by what the boy had said, but Morgan clarified Rick's confusion with an explication.
Duane's words were said to his father, as he had spotted his dead mother. Rick saw how her death had saddened the father and son duo and decided to shut up and wait.
Meanwhile, Eric and his group were a good distance away from their new base. They aimed to clear as many zombies as possible, which would grant them a safer scavenging zone from where they could get supplies.
Even though they didn't like to fight the zombies, Ellen and Gale joined the boys in their cleaning operation.
As they continued to kill the random zombies that were alone, Paul spotted a rather bigger group of zombies that were gathering in the middle of the street.
Seeing the number of zombies that gather there, Eric decided to formulate a plan with his companions as just simply rushing into the zombie would be suicidal
Paul had his rifle with him, but the problem was the noises it will make when he would fire. Well, it would be a problem as they already cleared 2-3 km of the zone around their base. Firing the gun would attract that many zombies, but they can still be ambushed by some zombies that would pop out of nowhere.
Eric wasn't against the use of a rifle to clear the group, but seeing that there are only 20 or so zombies, they should be able to take of the group if they can use guerrilla tactics to tide the numbers in their favors.
His companions thought for a moment before they decided to follow Eric's plan.
Even if he was a teenager, Eric was smarter than your average teenager, and the fact that he played many strategy games and survival games helped him in making a good plan of attack.
After they got in position, Eric sneaked near a zombie and killed him easily with a strike from his ax. Unfortunately for him, three zombies saw him and begin to chase him. When he saw that three zombies heard him, Eric smiled. This was what he hoped to happen. Slowly killing the zombies until there are no zombies left.
Now with three zombies following him, Eric made his way towards a house that had a steel fence, which would make the perfect trap for the dumb zombies that would stick their face in the fences, giving Eric and his friends an easy and safer way of killing a zombie with making too much noise.
When he entered the back yard, Eric saw Paul, Ellen, and Gale ready to stab the zombies and just as he closed the door behind him, the zombies hit the fence. Paul and the girls didn't waste any time and killed the zombies quickly.
They continued to make the same thing until there where only four zombies left. Now that they could deal with the zombies without using tactics, they decided to take one zombie each. Eric chooses to kill a female zombie that was close to him. When he killed the zombie, a man and a boy rushed at him. The man tackled Eric to the ground while the boy cried while looking at the zombie.
Eric didn't know what to do. He was startled by the sudden tackle, but he knew that that zombie was related to the duo.
Paul, Ellen, and Gale looked at Eric with concern, they had killed their target when the heard a body hitting the ground. When they turned too looked at the noise, they saw Eric being held by a black man.
Without waiting for the man to say anything, Paul rushed at the black man and pushed him off of Eric.
The man looked at Paul wanting to say something, but when he met the cold rifle barrel he gulped.
Before the situation could transform into something that would make both parties regret their decision, Rick managed to walk out of the house.
"Wait, let's talk. No need for a fight."
