บท 65: Before the Meeting

*Rias Gremory POV*
"Welcome to Faysummit"
I look up and see a man standing in front of the massive gate with a bunch of women standing around him. The man was wearing a black suit with a black tie, and instead of looking like a lord of the land, the man was more like a mafia boss.
"Please follow me. I will show you the meeting room."
We follow the man into one of the rooms, and when he opens up, I see a big round table with a chair to the side.
"This will be the meeting room. Please follow me. I will show you the guest room where you will stay. You can go to the kitchen for some food or wait in this room, and the servant will bring your food to your room. If there is something else you want, please let the servant know by pressing the button in the remote on top of the table. Enjoy your stay."
As the man leaves the room, I look at my brother and say.
"Nii-sama, is he the Lord of the Vongola family?"
"Yes. He is Lexian Vongola, the lord of the Vongola family."
"I see."
"Rias, remember your promise."
"Of course, Nii-sama."
Even if I over him become my peerage, I don't think I can reincarnate him into a devil. If my sense is right, the man has the power of an ultimate class being, and his companion is more powerful than him. That single thing made me shudder in fear and excitement. I fear if I approach him and offer him the invitation to join my peerage, and he sees it as an insult, I will get grounded for eternity in the underworld. I am excited because if I have him in my peerage, the rest of his companions will follow him, but I know that is my greedy soul speaking.
Not only will it spark a war between the Vongola family and the Devil race, but it will also make this meeting useless. If the Vongola family declares the Devil race their enemy, the Grigori faction and Heaven faction will decline the Three-Faction peace treaty.
"When will the meeting happen, Nii-sama?"
"At Seven PM."
Seven PM, huh? Then we have a few hours to spend seeing that we arrive here at Nine AM.
"Nii-sama, can we walk around the city?"
"Sure. As long as you remember your promise."
"Thank you, Nii-sama."
With that being said, I walk out of the room with all my peerage following me. As we walk away from the castle, we decide to walk around the city's marketplace, where I see many vendors selling food or drinks.
"If you guys want to buy something, please tell me. I will pay for it. I have the local currency given by my brother."
I look at my peerage and smile a little before looking around in confusion as one of my peerages is missing.
"Where is Koneko?"
"Errr… She already eats every sweet in every vendor, Buchou."
"What?"
I look at where Issei points his finger and see Koneko munching a sweet she got from the vendor.
With a sigh, I walk toward the stall owner and pay for the food Koneko eats. After paying for the food, we walk around the city and arrive in what looks like a barrack where I can see many people training with a sword or a bow. It was like seeing medieval troops training, but I know these swords and bows can easily destroy modern weapons.
From each weapon they hold, I can feel an unknown type of energy released from the weapon. After seeing all the troops training, we walk away from the barrack and arrive in the park to eat our food.
"Akeno, what do you think about this place?"
"Hmmm~ This place is comfortable, but with many different races in one place makes me a little bit uncomfortable."
Yes, Akeno is right about that. There are many races other than humans walking around in this city. I'm not trying to sound racist, but seeing a Fallen Angel walk past you can make you shudder a little: fallen Angel, Youkai, Veela, Siren, Harpy, and many more. I was really surprised to see them talking together without trying to kill each other. It was a well-known fact that Veela and Siren will fight each other when they are in close proximity. Veela is the creature of fire while Siren is the creature of water, and seeing them both having a pleasant conversation is something that I never see.
"Buchou."
"Hmm? What is it, Ise?"
"Do you see the little girl over there? The one talking to the woman with black hair and wearing a glasses?"
"Yeah?"
"She is a Dragon Slayer."
"What?!?"
I look at the little girl Issei pointed out. The little girl is around seven to eight years old. She has long, dark blue hair that reaches down to her waist, with two bangs framing her face, which reaches down to her chest alongside her brown eyes. She is wearing a blue and yellow sundress with a ribbon on her chest.
"Are you sure, Ise-kun?"
"Yes, Ddraig told me about her nature."
"I see."
I don't know about her real power, but I can sense her magic reserve can be compared to the High-Class devil. Eight years old humans have a magic reserve of a High-Class being, how envious.
I look at the woman the little girl talks to. She was a tall young woman with long, curly black hair and glasses. Curling up around her shoulder is a Honeybadger, but it was a few times bigger than the usual honey badger; it was more like a dog than a badger.
"Koneko-chan, can you smell the aura around the people in front of us?"
"Hmmm… Bugs and Air. The woman smells like bugs, and the girl next to her smells like air and dragon."
Bug controller and Wind magician, huh? And it looks like Ddraig is true to his word. The little girl somehow becomes a Dragonslayer.
If only the little girl did not become part of the Vongola family, I would invite her to join my peerage. While I don't have any more slots for my bishop, I can feel she can fit my other rook spot just fine.
I shake my head, trying to ignore those greedy thoughts. I already promise my brother not to cause any trouble here.
After spending our time in the park and eating the food we bought, I decide it is time to go back to our room. As we walk to the castle, I see the Grigori faction walk inside the castle with Lord Vongola and his guardian.
It was four of the Grigori Cadre. Azazel, Shemhazai, Baraqiel, and Armaros. Following behind them is a small Fallen Angels army guarding the castle with the devil army and the people from the Vongola family.
"Akeno, please hold your anger for me."
"... I'm sorry, Rias-sama."
"Thank you, Akeno."
The reason why Akeno is so mad seeing the Grigori Cadre is because of the presence of Baraqiel, Akeno's father. He leaves her mother to die at Baraqiel enemy's hand, who comes to kill both Akeno and her mother.
"Let us walk inside. It looks like the meeting will start soon. Let us prepare for the meeting."
