บท 28: Chapter 27: Starting the First Class
After about half an hour, they all finished and returned to the mansion's living room. Fumiko smiled as she said, "I hoped you all liked your gifts! Make sure to use them well and responsibly! We'll meet you at the academy!"
Ryu and the others said their goodbyes as they left the mansion, entered their car, and drove off. Knowing the way expertly, they reached the academy without any worries and without them almost getting sent to jail because of how reckless Lilia drove.
As Lilia parked the car, they all went out. Ryu stretched his body as he looked at the tattoo on his wrist, thinking, 'I really don't like having a tattoo, but I don't really have a choice but to keep this.'
'I don't really remember this weapon since my memories are still fragmented. All I know is that it's made using time magic.' Ryu had a solemn look on his face. Since he seemed to be in a daze, Lilia called out to him, pulling his attention. "Ryu! Let's go."
Ryu nodded his head and followed Lilia and the others toward the campus building. This was where the professors and the students who came together split up. However, Ryu seemed to have forgotten that he was already a professor. So he followed Emma and the others instead of Lilia and Reika.
Lilia couldn't help but giggle as she saw this. She then called out to him, saying, "Ryu! You're supposed to come with us! How could you forget that you're a professor~."
Inside Ryu's mind, 'Where could I more clues about my past life and time magic? I found one clue by chance, but that doesn't mean my luck in finding a hint would be the same again. '
But as he heard Lilia's call, he realized that his body moved on its own and had followed Emma and the others since he was a student just yesterday. So he smiled wryly as he apologized for being absent-minded and walked together with Lilia and Reika.
They headed towards the faculty lounge and entered the room. They were greeted by the other professors, especially Ryu since he was the youngest among them. Ryu decided to sit on one of the sofas while Reika sat down with him.
Lilia had some more things to manage before anything else, so it was only Reika and Ryu.
Ryu couldn't help but be a bit happy as he said, "Mom, it's really been long since we've been together alone. I really missed you comforting me."
"Aww, thank you, Ryu…. I had the urge to call you cute, but you're probably too old for that, right? Hahaha." Reika giggled happily while Ryu chuckled. He then said, "I'm not too old that I can't be pampered by my mom. A mother's love feels the best after all."

"Ah, mom, I knew you got a job here, but I never knew what your job is. Can you tell me more about it?" Ryu asked while looking at her with a smile.
Reika smiled as she said, "My job isn't really that hard. I'm just Miss Fumiko Hironaka's assistant. It's not as fancy as your job, Professor Ryu~ Hahaha."
"Oh! I'm sure she'll treat you well. And don't look down on your job; being an assistant to the headmistress of the largest magic school in the country is not an easy feat!" Ryu cheered his mom and encouraged her.
Reika felt a hint of satisfaction as she giggled at her son. 'Ah, how long has it been since I've had a nice little chat with my son.'
Feeling a sway of sadness, Reika went closer to Ryu and hugged his arm while leaning on his shoulder. Ryu knew that it was probably tough for Reika to handle the guilt that built up inside her when her son disappeared, so he comforted her by leaning his head on her.
Then after a while, they chatted for a bit more about the good things they've experienced over the past few years, and Ryu was happy that his mom and sisters were able to experience a stable life rather than have a hard one.
Suddenly, Lilia walked toward them while shouting, "Ryu! It's your turn to shine—Am I disturbing your mother-son bonding time?"
Reika and Ryu couldn't help but laugh at what she said. Reika then spoke in a teasing manner to Ryu, "No, no, not at all! Go, Professor Ryu~, teach the students properly, okay~!"
Ryu laughed as he stood up. Lilia also looked at Reika while saying, "Ah, Reika-san, the headmistress is calling for you. You already know the way to her office, right?"
"Ah yes."
They headed their separate ways as Lilia led Ryu towards a huge classroom that was several times larger than the one he was in previously. Before they entered, Ryu couldn't help but ask, "How many students am I teaching…?"
Lilia simply laughed as she said, "Hahaha, all of the students."
"What…?"
"Since you're tackling about the topic of chantless spells and space magic which most of the students don't know, it's much better for all of them to learn simultaneously," Lilia said with a smile.
'Sigh, good thing I have a lot more self-confidence than six years ago,' Ryu crossed his arms as he sighed. He then looked at Lilia and said, "Okay, I'm ready."
"Oh, and don't worry. Since it's your first time teaching, I'll be monitoring you. I'm bound to learn more things from you, isn't that right, master~." Lilia leaned in and whispered unto Ryu's ear.
This caused Ryu to grin as he turned her around and slapped her ass while saying, "Okay, enough of that, let's go."
Inside the room, the students wondered why all of the students from each rank were there. Well, it was understandable since this never really happened, even before when the academy was just founded.
Yuki sat right beside Aoi and Hina, and she chatted with them. You might be wondering how they got close. Well, here's a small flashback.

Earlier this morning, Aoi and the others entered the room and found their previous sits. Yuki was also there and wondered why Ryu and the others were late. When she saw Aoi, her face immediately brightened as she tried to find Ryu.
However, Ryu wasn't there, which caused her to be confused. Yuki was also not that close to Aoi six years ago, so she was a bit nervous about having a conversation with her. But since her curiosity about the situation couldn't be satiated, she forced herself to approach her.
"Uhmm… Aoi-san, good morning." Yuki initiated the conversation and sat beside her.
Aoi knew who she was since yesterday and immediately responded, "Ah~! Good morning to you as well, Yuki. Are you trying to find Ryu?"
Yuki simply nodded with a bit of red from the embarrassment of communication on her face since ever since she got titled 'Ice Queen,' she barely had any communication with people other than her family.
Aoi couldn't help but giggle at her reaction since she looked like a cute kitten. She then said, "He probably won't be with us in class since he isn't a student anymore."
Hearing this, Yuki was devastated and couldn't help but think that something had happened to him again. She immediately got worried as she spoke hastily, "What!? What happened? Is he hurt? Is he okay? Did he get into any problems? I hope he's fine…."
Aoi couldn't keep it in as she laughed loudly while saying, "You're quite a worrywart for being the Ice Queen, hahaha. Don't worry, he's fine! He's just not a student anymore. He's a professor now! Shocking, isn't it?"
A wave of relief entered Yuki's body, but as soon as she was relieved, what Aoi said hit her. "He's a professor now!?"
Yuki said that quite loudly, so all of the students in their class managed to hear it. Toshiro, on the side, heard the entire conversation and was dumbstruck as he whispered, "How in the fuck… I have the oracle ability, but I didn't expect him to become a professor of this academy immediately."
Kenji, beside him, then said, "So you did expect him to become a professor."
"Yes, but not this fast."
"But never mind that, Yuki. How have you been? I know that we were not that close before, but I'd like to change that. After all, you're my brother's best friend." Aoi asked with a smile.
Yuki smiled sadly as she said, "Yeah, my life hasn't been all that bad, but when Ryu disappeared, I just felt lost. That's why now that I found him, I don't want to lose him again… I want him to be safe."
As Aoi heard that, she smiled as she said, "Guess we're not so different after all. I felt the same when we lost Ryu, and I can't possibly think of what'll happen to me if we lose him again. Hahaha, I guess we have something in common."
Yuki nodded and smiled. Then they chatted for a while and stopped when Professor Chiyo arrived.

The students were confused on why the ace of the entire academy was walking toward the podium. Since they had no other thought, they thought that maybe he was just celebrating and bragging…?
As Ryu stood at the podium while Lilia gestured him a thumbs up, he smiled as he cleared his throat. "Hello everyone! My name is Ryu Kamiyama, your Chantless Magic and Space Magic professor! It's an honor to teach for the students of the Grandis Magic Academy!"
