บท 15: Mahi
Madd looked in his core one more time to just check-up on the monster that he has now "tamed". He didn't really know what to call it so he just said that. He also wanted to come up with a name for it instead of calling it monster or long monster and he wanted to fully inspect what he looked like. When he entered his shadow core he went over to where the monster was.
"Can you understand me here?" Madd asked.
The monster simply nodded its head in response to Madd. Madd felt extremely happy when seeing that because that meant he could still communicate with it without it having to come out.
"I want you to show me everything that you can do. But before that I want you to name you. How about Bob."
"Bob" looked at Madd and then looked like he was screaming but no noise was coming out.
"So you don't like that name?"
"Bob" nodded in response.
"I forgot about how bad I am at naming things. If I was writing a novel I would be totally helpless! Okay fine, how about Mahi." Mahi calmed down and nodded in response once again.
"Good. I am glad you like that name because I can't think of anything else." Madd pointed his nose high because he was getting proud of himself for coming up with such a good name.
Without being told Mahi started to move a little further away from where Madd was. He then started to perform all the moves that were instinctive to him. His claws grew longer and sharper and they looked like they could cut through steel like paper. Mahi then swung his arms in precise motions that looked very intimidating. Every swing of his arms would make a sharp "woosh" sound. It was very intimidating to anyone that could see it. But then...
"I know! We can call ourselves Double M!" Madd said like it was his proudest achievement.
After that was said everything turned quite. Mahi slowly looked over to Madd and put his hands back to his side. He then started to walk in the opposite direction of where Madd was standing. Madd thought he was joking but Mahi wasn't stopping. Madd tried calling out to him a few times but nothing was working so he chased after him.
"Mahi, I'm sorry I promise I won't call us that!"
Mahi stopped and looked back at Madd. It squinted with its hollow eyes and stared for a while. Madd slowed down because he thought that Mahi believed him.
"LiEs." Madd never expected that Mahi would be able to talk and it sounded like it struggled very hard to be able to do that. Madd froze when he heard it. 'How did he know I was lying! Damn it, I was gonna tell everyone that they should be fearful of the Double M's fury.' Now Madd's dream of bragging about him and his partner had ended before they could even happen.
"Fine okay. I promise that I won't ever say that name again."
"LiEs."
'FUCK!' Once again Madd's dreams were crushed.
"Fine, you win okay! You're lucky I gave you the name Mahi!"
Mahi looked at Madd in the eyes and turned around once again.
"Oh my god, please stop. You are deserving of the name Mahi that my humble brain has come up with so that you can have a name to show your glory throughout the world."
Mahi did the biggest nod he has and started to approach Madd and finish the demonstration of his abilities. There really wasn't much more than different patterns of slashing with his hands but even that was something terrifyingly powerful.
"So the only thing you can do is slash." Madd once again let his mouth run and Mahi turned around and walked away.
'FUCK FUCK FUCK! Why do I say this stuff out loud!'

After once appealing to Mahi and praising him Madd got up from his sitting position in the center of the formation. He looked around to see if his Grandpa or mom were there but he was the only one in the room. So he decided to head over to his Grandpa and see what awesome things he could do with his powers. After thinking about his powers he remembered that he still hadn't looked at his ring yet so he activated it.
All of a sudden a bright grey light with a tint of red shone out around Madd in a ring. It was a lot thicker than the other rings but slightly smaller if you were to put all the rings side by side. But of course, Madd was condensing and not just pushing all the rings together. Madd let out a satisfied smile and deactivated his ring. He now had a newfound confidence that he didn't have before. But then he stopped. 'I have to remember that this is just the beginning of the shadow levels. Grandpa did say that even the lowest level shadow integrator could easily kill me if I was at the peak of ring formation. Now all I can do is to keep trying my hardest.' With that needed reminder to himself, he opened the door to leave, not forgetting to inject his shadow powers into the door.
But as soon as he opened the doors someone was standing outside of them. It was a tall older boy with blonde hair and the same eyes and Madd and Michelle. It was his cousin, Elijah.
"Oh, you're cousin Elijah, right? Nice to meet you." Madd stuck his hand out to shake Elijah's but Elijah didn't move a muscle. He just kept looking at Madd. "Um okay, well I am going to leave now, see you around." Madd then walked around Elijah. Madd looked back one more time to see Elijah entering the tier 10 room.
'Okay, guess he only cares about that.'
Madd proceeded down the hallway while passing by all of the doors. Madd was getting more and more curious about what the lower tier rooms looked like so right before he was in front of the elevator he entered a door. Obviously, this was a tier 1 room because it was one of the first doors. Madd made sure that it wasn't locked before injecting his shadow power into it. He proceeded inside and it didn't look much different from the tier 10 other than being smaller and the formation looking less complicated.
Madd felt a tremble below his feet and he looked down to see his core underneath him. 'Weird, I never activated it?' Before Madd could think anymore about it he saw Mahi appear right in front of him. Madd jumped back in reflex but quickly calmed down realizing that it was just Mahi.
"What are you doing here Mahi. I never called you out." Mahi looked over at Madd for a second and then point to the formation.
"Are you talking about the formation? I guess you can do what you want just don't mess anything up." Mahi gave a quick nod and approached the center. He then went on his knees and put his hands where the center of the formation was. All of a sudden Mahi quickly pulled his hands up and it looked like he was holding something. He was, it was a giant ball of shadow. If Madd was paying attention to his surroundings he would notice that the rest of the formation was flowing like water to the center and leaving nothing behind.
After Mahi stood there with his hands up for a couple of minutes he finely started to move and he put it in his mouth and swallowed all of it in one gulp. 'Damn that's impressive.' Madd was pretty impressed. But after his admiration for Mahi, Madd looked around the room because he noticed the walls looked a little duller. He then paused.
"Oh shit." He looked around the room and realized that there was now formation left. Only walls with engravings in them were left. Madd slowly looked back to Mahi and saw that Mahi started to have little black spikes coming out of his spine.
'Well, I guess it was worth it to Mahi but I have no idea how hard it is to make these. I wonder how Grandpa is going to react. Madd called back Mahi into his core and he left the room with his head hanging low. He went into the elevator and pressed the button to go up to his floor because he didn't want to meet with his Grandpa anymore because he doesn't want to get scolded right after condensing his rings. When he got into his room and threw himself on his bed and closed his eyes to sleep. He didn't realize how tired he was because he almost instantly fell asleep.
