บท 15: Chapter 10
"Hohoho, it seems my old friend doesn't care about my face anymore. Old men these days, what is the world coming to?"
Seeing Shang Fei getting so full of himself, Long couldn't help but snap out of his daze. A moment ago, he had gone through a multitude of emotions ranging from surprise, anger to calm and even more anger. Then when he listened to the annoying words from the visitor, so directed his anger towards him.
"What are you talking about old fart? I haven't seen you in a few months and your nose has migrated to the top of your head. You dare to be so arrogant in front of me huh, see how I throw you out of the house."
Seeing Long Shi on the brink of an explosion. He decided to calm him down.
"Calm down old pal. I just said a few truths of the world and you freaked out this much? It seems you're going senile earlier than me. Ok, ok. Let me stop there. Don't start a ruckus again."
Seeing as Shang submitted, he gave a cold snort and ignored him. At this time he turned his eyes towards the young man standing behind the visitor. A horde of emotions flashed through his eyes and a complicated feeling arose from his chest. It wasn't because the kid tricked him but rather he knew this day would come. He seemed to imagine his money suddenly growing a few legs and walking away leaving him poor and helpless. When Jerry met his gaze, he suddenly shuddered and figured out what the old man was thinking. He has stayed with the old man for so long that he can spot his wicked thoughts from a mile away. That's the only way he has been able to survive his tyranny.
Seeing the situation going nowhere, Shang Fei stood up and spoke first .
"Old friend. Do you still remember our deal? Do you still remember that our little friend here is a guest? Then why did it turn out like this! Why did you torture and break him to this extent! Look at how his complexion has changed. He used to be so cheerful and easygoing but now, he's in old tattered clothes and the despair that has accumulated over the months can be seen in his eyes. I feel like the only way to save him is to take him away from here. After all, I can't leave him in your hands for one more day."
After hearing this, Long Shi spewed out a long sigh and spoke to his old pal.
"Old pal, please don't make it so exaggerated. What despair! What tattered clothes! The kid was just excited to meet you today that he didn't sleep last night and played around all day. You can even ask him. He came at night to tell me some information about Shin Song plant, meaning he wasn't sleeping. He stayed up all night making noise in the house that I punished him with doing a few chores. As for why his clothes are in tatters, they must of poor quality."
Hearing this, Jerry almost spit out a mouthful of blood. This shameless old man, there's isn't even a change in expression when he switches black and white together. Also, it's obvious the old man gave himself these clothes, so why is he calling them poor quality? He almost wanted to expose this shameless short old geezer but he got a knowing look from him and immediately understood what it meant.
'If you rat me out. At least any more than you've already done, then don't blame me for exposing you too.'
As if perceiving this mental communication, he immediately quieted down and spoke no more. He also had some unspeakable things he wouldn't like to expose to Shang Fei after all, being in close contact with Long Shi, he picked up some not so good ideas and mistakes that he can't expose to Shang Fei.
At this moment, Long spoke out again.
"Ok. Since it's been decided. I will let the kid follow you to town. Old bud, let me speak to my little "guest" for a while. I promise I won't do anything to him. I just want to say goodbye since it will long before I see him again."
After listening to Long, he turned towards Jerry for confirmation. He saw some hesitation, some hand clenching and then a fierce light flash across the young man's eyes. Seeing this determination, Shang guessed the boy has agreed and then nodded. Both the kid and Long Shi walked outside for a while started to chat with each other. As Shang Fei peered through a slit of the door, the saw his friend and the the young kid cordially speaking to each other and nodded in satisfaction. Then he returned to his seat in peace.
It was unknown how many blackmails and extortions were exchanged between the old man and Jerry but after they came back, it seems it was a tie as both of them had ugly expressions on their faces. Just as they opened the door to the living room, with practiced movements, they both restored their expressions to the calm benign appearances.
Seeing this, Shang Fei guessed they have already said their goodbyes and started speaking again.
"Old pal, I don't know what is going on between you too but I have already decided to take him away and you know I can't change my decision. Enough about that, let's get to the main topic. I brought you a piece of news."
Hearing this, the benign expression on Long Shi suddenly changed and serious expression appeared on his face. He continued listening with more attention.
"It seems the city mayor and his son are returning from Earth Tiger country. There will be a celebration in a week's time to welcome him."
Listening to these words, Long asked with a happy expression.
"Do you think he has found the lost devil's cemetery?"
"I think so, otherwise he wouldn't dare to return without the devil's treasure."
Listening to these super secrets being discussed among these old geezers, he ignored it as it had nothing to do with him. Anyway, he can finally leave this village.
