[Adrian's POV]
It was morning.
Adrian clutched the handlebar of his motorbike, swerving to overtake a slowing car. Everything Raymond told him still hasn't sunk into his brain fully. Even as he sped up the road on his way back home, it kept repeating like a nightmare he just woke up from. The more reality seeped into skin, the need to see his family increased.
Once he neared the familiar green gate, his motorbike slowed down. It hadn't been long since he decided to leave the life he was accustomed to in exchanged of freedom and independence. But as he stared at the three-story house, he couldn't help but to feel a pang of regret, especially when Aaron came out to open the gate for him.
"'Sup, Bro?" Aaron greeted. "Glad you could visit. How's it going?"
This chapter was especially hard to write as I have to research more about police stuff. Google isn't helping much. I just hope I got it accurate at least. Ugh!
