Ira indicated for Potter to keep an eye on the horses and weapons and remain outside. Once they moved inside the building, Ira paused, glancing at the young stranger. The commissioner saw the look Ira gave the gentleman.
"Moana, this is Richard Seddon. Richard, this is Sergeant Moana Rangitira, who used to be one of our best constables, until a severe knock on his cranium rendered him apparently senseless," stated the commissioner, still furious.
The two men shook hands, each appraising the other.
"A pleasure to meet you, Sergeant," said Richard, his tone warm and friendly.
"Sir, what I have to discuss is extremely important... and sensitive," said Ira.
"Richard, can you please excuse us for a minute?"
"Of course, sir," replied Mr. Seddon, walking back up the stairs and disappearing through an open doorway at the top.
"What is it, Moana?" asked the Commissioner testily, once he was satisfied his guest was out of earshot.
