The Wizard
The Greek wizard, Hermokrates, was born in 325 BCE in Alexandria, six years after Alexander the Great renamed the small town after himself and transformed it into the capital of Hellenistic Egypt. At the time, there were no Greek magic schools in Egypt and Hermokrates' father would not trust his son's education to a pharonic magic school, such as the one in Thebes. Hermokrates therefore studied magic under the tutelage of his uncle Kleitos the Wise, a master of magic not to be confused with the Greek general Kleitos who also lived at the same time.
