When everyone was leaving, Dakota pulled me to the side. "Jess, while the Rogue Wolves are around, I want you to stay here at the house with Noah and me." He shook his head. "The thought of them catching your scent while you're alone—"

"But I won't be there alone. You'll be with me." I smiled, cutting him off.

But his expression was serious. "Jessica, I may not always be there to protect you. It'll be safer for you to stay with me at the house."

"That's okay," I replied. "I can protect myself. Besides, Micah and Faith are staying here with you. Are you sure you'll have enough room?"

He nodded. "Yes, of course. Either you can room with Faith or with me."

"No offense to Faith, but I'd rather stay with you."

One corner of his lips curled into a sexy grin. "I was hoping you'd say that."
