บท 164: Chapter 41 The Meeting Continues...
(A/N. Why is this meeting like 4 literal episodes long? Anyway, here's the chapter, enjoy.)
(Let's see what they want...)
The fairy and her demon companion had entered Tempest, infact they would arrive at the meeting area relatively shortly. In fact as I waited for them I could feel the town guards including Phos make a move, they were moving to intercept our would be guests but I decided to stop them. From what I could sense now that they were so close it would seem that the fairy was a demon lord, even if a very weak one.
'Don't bother with them.' I muttered while connecting telepathically to the guards moving to block their advance.
For a moment no one spoke, they were probably a little confused until someone finally realized who it was that had suddenly spoken to them. 'M-miss Suu?!'
'Let them in.' I muttered with a yawn.
'But...'
'It'll be fine, just let them pass.' They still seemed a little unsure but soon stop their advance.
'Very well.'
(From the story that dad told just now the fairy should be that demon lord he met, whatever her name was, and the demon should be the one that he summoned for her.) I thought to myself, I wasn't really paying attention to the meeting anymore at this point.
(That leaves only one question, why the hell are they here now?) I mused as I tried to come up with an answer. (The fairy seems to be in a rush if the sporadic flying is anything to go by, in fact she will probably end up crashing into the window at this point.) It was true, in fact as I looked up I noticed a little yellow light headed right for us from above.
I sighed but raised my hand in her direction nonetheless. "Let's give her a hand I guess." I muttered out loud getting some confused looks in return.
Under the somewhat puzzled gazes of everyone present I flicked my wrist causing two black rifts to open up. One opened just in front of the little yellow light and the other opened just in front of me, and because it opened so suddenly the light flew right through it into my hand without anyway to avoid it.
"Why hello there." I muttered somewhat mockingly as I looked down at the now very confused fairy in my palm.
"Huh?" It took her a second to figure out what had happened but once she did, well, boy was she loud. "What are you doing?! Release me this instant!"
"Don't you know who I am! I'm demon lord Ramiris!" So her name was Ramiris, I would have to try and remember that.
(She's...not what I was expecting, that's for sure...) I was surprised, considering how weak she actually was I'd never expect her to be so...forward? Brave?
"Haha, hear that! I'm a demon lord you hear!" She laughed with a large smile on her face as if that intimidated me. "I'm sure you're mesmerized by my very presence but let me go this very instant."
(She is oddly cute in a weird way.) I shrugged as I released her, all the while everyone had just been looking at us confused.
It was around this time that Rimuru finally spoke up, completely baffled by the situation. "Ramiris?! What are you doing here?"
"Because I heard everything!"
(Heard everything? How?) I asked myself rather puzzled by her words. (Does she have listening devices in here or something?) I glanced around but found nothing even with my sensory abilities.
"Your kingdom, Tempest, it's doomed to fall." She announced shocking everyone.
"What did you just say?!" Rimuru, Shion and Veldora all asked in unison.
"Huh...wasn't expecting that I'm not gonna lie." I was a little taken aback but quickly recovered.
"That's right it doome-hey!" She was sadly interrupted when Diablo grabbed her by the wings.
Ramiris once again began ranting up a storm while flailing her body around. "What is with everyone grabbing me today?! Put me down right now! Get your hands off of me!"
"My lord, my lady, would you like for me to dispose of this ridiculously loud bug for you?" He asked in disgust as he ignored the little fairies screams of protests.
"What did you call me?!"
"I'm guessing this is your demon lord friend?" I asked while turning to Rimuru who nodded awkwardly.
"Yeah."
"Wow..." Fuze muttered with a tired expression.
"Wow? What that supposed to mean?!" Riamisi asked as her head whipped to the side so that she could look at Fuze. "I may be small but I'm still one of the ten great demon lords so the very least you can do is act a little surprised!"
"After meeting Storm Dragon Veldora in person and learning about his return nothing really surprises me anymore..."
(Yeah, I guess we really have broken the poor guy with all the mind shattering revelations haven't we?) I thought before chuckling to myself mischievously. (I wonder how he will react when it is my turn?)
"Hah, Veldora isn't all that great." She laughed as she made several punching motions at the empty air. "I could take him out with one punch I tell ya, just one punch!"
(So loud.) I was almost glad when Rimuru took her from Diablo and handed her off to said dragon in question.
"Hey Veldora, can you watch her for a minute?"
At this point the little fairy was still laughing to herself but slowly realized who it was she had been given to. "Hahaha...haha...Veldora?" She trailed off before abruptly fainting from shock.
(Okay that's funny.) I smiled before remembering something.
(Hmmm...where did that demon go?) It wasn't hard to find them with my senses, they were currently hiding their presence while keeping out of sight with magic. (Ah, there you are.)
"Alright everyone." Rimuru said abruptly while clapping his hands to get everyone's attention again. "It's time for the real business to get underway."
And so the meeting continued, the main topic we discussed was how Tempest was going to present itself to the world. We would make all the other kingdoms believe that not only weren't me and Rimuru true awakened demon lords but also that it was Veldora that killed the invading army when he "supposably" resurrected during the battle we were having. After that we discussed what Youm would be doing, Gazel even scared the shit out of hero boy to test him, I enjoyed that little show quite a bit. Anyway, after a while we came to the next topic
"Alright Youm, what I would seek from your nation currently would be agricultural production." Gazel said with a much friendlier demeanor compared to just a moment ago. "Having something you can specialize in when it comes to trade will make it easier to coexist with other nations."
"I'll second that request Youm, we can talk later about what kind of crops we want." Rimuru announced causing Youm to smile.
(I could ask for something similar but when it comes to feeding the abyss it's easy for me, I can literally alter and create life after all.) I thought while ignoring Fuze who was currently giving an offer to help Youm with their future agriculture. (In fact a lot of the things that would pose a problem for most nations are nothing to the abyss, I can easily solve most problems after all. There's no borders, I can literally make living creatures and crops for food, and sure the environment is rather unexplored and possibly dangerous but the weak could just stay on the massive floating island for safety if need be, in facts even if they somehow manage to die I should be able to just resurrect them.)
"Hahahahahaha"
"Huh...?"
