Ethan thought it over. It was nothing more than a feeling but he would feel better if he knew Emma was in a safer place.
"We probably should. Do you think we'll be able to get them to come willingly? I know Emma hates leaving the playground," he said with a sigh.
Karli laughed. "We'll see. My kids aren't huge fans of leaving it either. Let's give it a try though. Alina! Blake! Chloe! It's time for us to go home! Come quickly and I'll let you have your favorite cookies."
The girls swiveled their heads around and their eyes lit up at the mention of cookies. Alina immediately came down the slide and rushed over to her mother. Chloe wasn't far behind. The swings were further away though so Blake didn't hear her the first time.
Emma wasn't swayed by the promise of cookies. She wanted to keep playing. Ethan had to go over there and climb up the equipment to get her down. She squealed as he began chasing her and tried running away but was no match for her.
