บท 4: The Mistress
" 'The basics are the common spells used in combats. This includes:
*the 'Inspecto Bizzardo' the simplest combat spell,
*the 'Inspecto Cal' a spell used to counter a magic, and
* The 'Inspecto Bue' a blocking spell'. The three spells stated above are the three common spells that made up 'the basics'.
As the students reached the age '15', professors are expected to teach them 'the basics'. Bear in mind that even if it's only the basics, these combats spells are not easy to do, rather, these spells needs a lot of concentration and perspiration, a hard work to be exact. Once you did it, you can easily apply it even without concentration." She explained
"Now all of you, memorize the spells and Make a straight line right now!" She demanded and our classmates begun memorizing the three spells and later make a line.
We three stood up and joined the line. This won't be a pain in the a**, I'm telling you.
"Patricia, Pariana, Peteriona" she said emphasizing the 'A' sound
"The three of you are not allowed to perform the spells." She spoked and we three just nodded and got back to our seats.
Some of my classmates starts whispering words and one of them shouts.
"Looks like the losers will not participate the showdown!"Jack shouted making the boys laugh, well the girls are kind to us and the boys are well, assholes.
"Speaking of which, are you referring to yourself?" I asked whilst forming a smirk in my face.
A booing sound was made, making me flashed my sweetest smile to Jack.
"E-excuse me?" He stuttered
"You're not excused mister." I retaliated and the girls laughed.
"Enough!" Ms. Taylor shouted making the whole class quiet.
"Manners Mr. Thompson(reffering to Jack)" she said and give Jack a blank stare. A blank stare means a warning.
Prof. Taylor made a gold wizard dummy and beckoned my classmates to start the activity.
Cana was first to perform the three spells, she failed at her first attempt but she soon nailed it in her second. None of them ever succeed in their first attempt, which makes me, Par, and Pete victorious.
The whole day was spent with 'spell casting' because tomorrow is the showdown and the principal demanded to prepare the students.
As the bell rang at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, all of us stood and leave the room, till' me, par and pete was called so we three go back inside.
"You three." Ms. Taylor started
"Practice each of the spells I taught you yesterday, and remember don't use perpueto catastra unless your battling against a black wizard."
"Got it." We three said in Unison, and bid our goodbyes to her.
We're now heading towards the 'easterian hall' (a hall where everybody(students/Prof) goes; everyone gather there after classes. Has uncountable numbers of round tables, sometimes long four tables, depending on the number of people in the hall. Plus, actual foods are serve not those made by magic. Also, Announcements were given during dinner. And together with the Wysterian hall, this Hall was built by the early Magi's, and no type of magic can destroy the hall.)
We three walked in silence as we walked in the wide and big hallway; designed like the hallways on castles, with candles attached on each side, lighting the hallway. Well Clairemont is a castle, To be exact.
We found Ms. Taylor also heading towards the easterian hall and we joined her on the way there. We talked about how things will turn out tomorrow, about Jake Thompson and the scene this morning with Lila and her friends.
We reached the end of the hallway and said 'open'. The walls exposed a gold-colore gigantic door and the four of us placed our hands on the door and so it opens, revealing the grand staircase also colored with gold. We walked down the stairs and finally arrived at the hall. The easterian hall is an underground hall. But this halls has windows that shows the outside of the School or anywhere you wanna see. Cool isn't it?
Many students have occupied the tables and chairs in the back. So we three decided to sit in the front, on the middle, [there are three columns for the arrangement, one for the boys in the right, the girls on the Belien section on the left and in the Middle the A section; girls. So two column for the girls in Belson and Belien, and one for the boys. ]
Lila and her friends are on the left side and Jack with his friends are on our right. Great! Now I can sense that their eyes are following us behind our back. Ms. Taylor have parted ways with us since she sits on the Master's table together with her co-professors and our head mistress(principal). Btw, the professors wore different clothings with gold in it.
Our head mistress wears a gold toga. It was like a dress but more like a toga, she's in her 2nd Century and still she looks very young, seems like she's in her 30's or 40's.
The explanation to this is that, a wizard's body will stop growing when he/she reached 35 or 45. Only her understanding, maturity, ability and power will develop but never the physical appearance, this also works with the magi's.
Our mistress is both a wizard and a magi, she's a half blood, a very powerful creature.
"We're in between the 'trash' and the 'loser' huh." Peteriona said and smirked. Peteriona likes arguments very very much, she's the war freak type in our group but believe me she's kind.
Pariana on the other hand is the less bitch here, but believe she could be a war freak like her cousin, anytime. And me, well I could be a war freak if I want to. I enjoy sarcasm a lot resulting why people are annoyed at me, Jake for example.
Pariana just nodded, not wanting to talk. I just glared at Pete, we don't want to make a scene here. Not in front of the mistress, ever!
