I was three arrows up, Valery, behind me, was two. So far, there weren't any faulty ones that I've passed through, boosting my confidence to climb. It was true what Valery had told me, this was indeed a tall Pikachu rock formation like no other. We barely even passed the tail.
I wrapped my hand onto the next arrow located at the pointy tip of Pikachu's tail and rested it there for about a moment.
"You're tired already?" Valery teased me.
"I never said that. I'm just resting."
"Same thing."
I looked up to Pikachu's ears. "You better be sure this fragment's up there."
"Oh yes or maybe not. I do not know."
"What? You just said..."
"I did, but it was just a hunch. Hey? Daily exercise is good for the body."
I exhaled and took another step upward as did she behind. This time, the arrow I clung my left hand onto broke. I screamed and immediately shut my mouth with my left hand. I perspired more often as now, one arrow needed to balance my weight.
"You said these stuff were sturdy?"
"Yes! They're not just wooden arrows."
"Well? Help me! What should I do?"
"First, you should stop panicking. Just relax and I'll give you another arrow. Use it as a Pickaxe and you know what to do next."
"Okay. I'll try."
She handed me another arrow of hers and pierced it through the stone. I was relieved a bit but at the same time, the right arrow cracked, thus; blanching me in white. I screamed again and being appalled, I accidentally let go of the new arrow I just put.
"Luna!" Valery screamed and tried to reach for my hand. I didn't allow that to happen as both of us would end up dead. Instead, I passed her and clung unto the tip of Pikachu's tail.
"I'll climb back down. Wait for me there."
"No, no. You go up. I can do this," I said confidently, trying to get up from the edge. I was in the scenario of one of those movies where the villain nearly succeeds by slowly removing the fingers of the protagonist from the tippy tip of a cliff.
"Are you sure? Here. I have a grappling hook. I'll just shoot it at you, hope I miss, and you can use that to get yourself back up."
"What? You have a grappling hook and you never told me?"
"Oh... Never thought of that. I'm not hiking smart anyway."
I was almost up when the portion of rocks at the side of Pikachu's tail, where I'm at, gave in. For this incident, there was no longer a way out.
I screamed heavily again upon falling, trying to reach out for one of my Pokeballs when my belt suddenly went loose and dropped off my waist. Valery wasted no chance and shot a grappling hook inches from my side. However, it being seconds late would very much put my life in a disadvantage.
I was almost at the ground when I decided to hurt my fingers in exchange for living. It was impossible to grab onto the rope and so I grabbed onto the hook instead, leaving me bearing the pain of needles dancing across it. Valery chose to release one of her hand for my life.
"Oh no," Valery looked at the single arrow carrying her weight. It was beginning to bend and break.
Meanwhile, me on the hook, it swung towards the back of Pikachu in rapid speed that I was unable to position my feet in time. Instead of my feet that would be able to push myself, thus balancing myself for me to climb back once more, it was my knees that hit harshly.
The pain was extreme, excruciating that I wanted to cry, however, how I tried my best not to.
<Fletch! Fletch!> I looked below and saw my Pokemon gazing at me with worry. They must've escaped from their Pokeballs. Gardevoir would be good but her energy's drained to help out.
An idea crossed my mind. "Valery! Let go of it."
"What? That's still a long way down."
<Fletchling! Fletchling!> Fletchling rushed up. It didn't matter to him whether his small wings would do him no good and that his mass would be unable to lift me. He still gave it is all and went towards me.
At last, his limit was reached and he couldn't fly more. He kept flapping his wings even in exhaustion until they turned and white. That white glow spread throughout his body and I witnessed him transform into a newly evolved Pokemon.
<Fletchinder!> Fletchinger soared higher yet still reached his limits sooner or later. Even if he evolved through trying, his mass wouldn't still be enough to catch my entirety.
<Fletchinder! Fletchinder!>
"I'm fine." I looked below and saw Absol trying to climb with her bare claws and Mawile with her jaw.
"Zorua!" I called and pointed at the Pidgeot.
<Zor?> Zorua dashed to it, transformed himself into the Pokemon and went up. Finally, I let go of the hook, as did Valery to the gun as she clung back to balance herself. Zorua as Pidgeot and Fletchinder combined were able to help me land safely on the ground.
Despite that all was finished, I was in a bad condition after what happened to my knees.
Valery came back down afterward. She went to me, resting on a tree with my Pokemon.
"Are you alright? Yeah, my idea was bad."
"I don't think I can go for a second round."
"Can you stand?"
"I can bend them a little but climbing? Definitely not. You have to get the piece by yourself but this time, for the love of mercy, use your grappling hook."
"It limit though."
"I see three stops. first, Pikachu's tale, aim it there, then at the shoulder, then its ears. I'll watch you from here."
"I don't know if I can do all that."
"You're a lieutenant colonel."
"I cheated my way on getting that my rank."
"And now it's your opportunity to acquire it officially."
"Okay. Okay." She walked in circles.
