The clock is near five in the morning and my tired body is slowly killing me. It was at that moment when Xeryll just arrived, making me frustrated it took her more than ten minutes to get here. The champion, the gym leaders, and the remaining jets had all returned to their homes in this quiet hour but as from Team Rocket members like us, we were forced to wait in the sand.
Alongside us, however, is the trainers in which until now are discussing what city to visit next to rest and stay since most cities were devastated during the whole fight. Also, even until now, Charlotte seemed to be unconscious and I sit here, upon a rock, watching her body being aided by Melody and Zeal.
While watching, I was approached by Logan who sat beside the rock I was sitting on. He didn't seem sleepy or tired. He was somehow worried, as if a teacher or a principal has called him for a recitation.
"So, I guess we will be parting-ways again once your helicopter arrives."
"Yes. Is- is there anything wrong with that?" I inquired, gazing my eyes to the colors of the blissful stars that I had not seen for a long time. It gives me serenity, calmness, and a woman like me can just have peace of mind while gazing at the stars.
"No. I just wanted to ask you a question- not that it's important, but just a little favor."
"It depends."
"What do you mean it depends?"
"It depends on your question."
"Oh. It's fine if you disagree. Is there by any chance you can- um, watch the Pokemon League in Ever Grande City? It starts somewhere around six in the evening. It was adjusted because of the conflict we recently had." timid, he directed the question to me and the first thing that came up to my mind was the meteorite.
"A Pokemon League..."
"Don't tell me you've never been to a Pokemon League before? It's not like the ones in Kanto and Johto. Here, trainers fight, and the victor of the league will be the chosen one to challenge the elite four and after that, the champion! If, if you're busy, then it's fine."
I looked to him and smiled, "Sure. I'll be there."
"Really?!" he became exuberant all of a sudden, making me giggle.
"You have my word."
Then from afar, Zeal approached me. She told me with relief the helicopter had finally arrived and it is time to leave the place for good. Finally, I was pleased to hear the best news of the day, so far at least, and I can't wait to jump into my bed and enjoy a good night's sleep.
And there, me and Logan parted-ways. I waved at him and he waved back and as said, I promised to watch him in the Pokemon League, wherever this Ever Grande City is.
"Sorry for the delay, I had to rescue someone whom I saw floating around in the middle of nowhere, clinging to a scrap of metal." Xeryll apologized as the five us entered her vehicle. With the help of the kind-hearted trainers, they were able to bring Charlotte's fainted body in the back seat.
"Another body? Where is it?" Melody asked, eager to know.
"I sent her back to headquarters before coming here and you'll never know who it is."
"So, it's a feminine. Hmm, interesting." Zeal uttered.
In my mind I also wondered who Xeryll saved; therefore, it piqued my interest. On our way back, the five of us were deeply asleep like children being droved home after a long vacation or time in the mall. I let the sleepiness conquer my body, and allow those sweet dreams to play in mind.
Arriving back at headquarters, Xeryll woke us up with her smile. We went down her helicopter, walking like zombies while the other grunts took Charlotte's body. They were surprised to see an agent of ours, wearing a Team Magma uniform. I guess it's time to revert whatever happened to Charlotte and I am willing to know the reason how she escaped a submarine that sunk to the depths of the ocean.
And finally, in my room, I leaped to my bed, not even wanting to dress up anymore. I can feel the sun, already rising and I care not of the time. Then when I thought my dreams would run around my mind like carousels, I was awakened by a knock on the door.
Irritated by the knocker's persistence, I stood up and opened it, furious and filled with fury but that quickly calmed after seeing Matori. It was a sight that I wouldn't forget for our eyes locked into each other's. It was at that moment when I knew who Xeryll was referring to.
"You are, Elite Operative Luna Evergreen, is it not?" she asked.
"Wh-why yes," I replied with a smile.
"Though I couldn't remember my past memories, your professor told me who I am. Is it true, am I the secretary of Giovanni? An Elite Operative of this organization as well? Is it true that I was killed, revived under the wrong hands? I could not remember most, since again, I should be dead and now I function like a robot which is about to restart its life."
"Everything you said is true, except for one. You were never Giovanni's secretary, you are Team Rocket's secretary." I clarified after remembering Giovanni's horrendous deeds.
"I-I see, Elite Operative Luna Evergreen. It will be a pleasure to act the way I was before, and I will do my very best to do it. Pardon me for I had disturbed your sleep. Many questions bother my mind or in this case, my CPU. Now that most of them are solved, you can return to your sleep." Matori uttered and slowly closed the door of my room. I extended my foot and used it as a lump as I opened the door.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" Matori asked. Without saying another word, I jolted to her and cuddled her fervently. I've missed her so much, and despite the rising sun, I can't hold my tears for her. Shocked, she slowly hugged me back, and there she realized that she played a major role in the past.
If it wasn't for her, I'd never be here today and Team Rocket would be crippled under Arlo's command.
"I never got the chance to say thank you." I murmured, continuing to hug her.
"F-for what?"
"It's nothing," I replied with a grin.
Let's add a pinch of "Despecable Me" shall we?
