Giovanni, the self-proclaimed strongest trainer. An ambitious man, with sharp black pupils, and a hair darker than twilight. He has a high reputation for being one of the richest and most influential men in the Kanto and Johto Region. A gym leader with a corrupt heart, a heart that yearns for something far greater than humanity's capabilities.
"Can't you see how I'm saving the light?" A gentle voice with a spice of conviction utters. Resting on an ebony chair, on top of the tower is no other than Boss Giovanni. Soothingly, he grooms his Persian resting on his lap, a pale cat with blunt claws, ferocious eyes, and vicious fangs. Look upon Persian's eyes, and you'll see nothing but agony. It could seal your fate with the power of its red gem located on its forehead.
"There are other ways Giovanni..." A man with cunning carmine hair and brown eyes responds with a slight increase of tone. He stares at the city through the tower's intriguing windows while his ears listen to Giovanni's plead.
"Lance, please seek beyond the fight, it's only a small price to pay for salvation. Mankind can evolve to the better versions of themselves, can't you see how I'm saving humanity?!" Giovanni's confident voice echoes throughout his twilight room.
"I'm sorry Giovanni, but your plans are too absurd. There are other ways of saving humanity... that's if, you really want to." Lance utters with a soft voice while the city horizons drag his eyes. He's known as the leader of the Elite Four, a man with a reputation for becoming Kanto's greatest dragon master.
"... I have to go now, another challenger is waiting in the Indigo Plateau. I'm sorry, but the Elite Four won't concur with your plans." Lance adds with a subdued voice while walking out of the room. He kept his eyes on the door, and didn't even dare to glare back at Giovanni's black cunning pupils.
"If only you understand how I feel... I may have thorns on my throat, but I won't stray from the path I chose." Giovanni murmurs to himself while trying to keep his cool. His heart rages with a fiery passion, while his eyes glared immensely at the city horizons. His malicious scowl tells it all, with the support of the Elite Four or not, his ambitions must be achieved.
"Sir, here's the coffee that you've ordered..." Matori, Giovanni's secretary, interrupts the boss's peace of mind by placing a white cup of brown coffee on top of Giovanni's black marble desk.
"... Oh, and by the way, sir, Arlo, and Cliff have returned with a new agent. Her name is Luna Evergreen, fifteen years old, and a severe case of Dysphemia.
She's waiting outside the room, should I let her in?"
"A new agent? Let her in..." Giovanni responds while taking a small sip from his cup of coffee.
With a very high timid nature, I walk slowly to the boss. His eyes are to blunt and sharp too look at, and his Persian alone is too intimidating. He has the looks of a wealthy businessman, but the question is, where did he get all his wealth?
My eyes gazes upon his black lustered room. I feel uncomfortable and anxious while glancing on the Aerodactyl fossil floating above my head. Not even the slightest of joy could be found in my heart, no matter how many times I sought for it.
His eyes stare maliciously at me, but I keep my posture and avoided heavy eye contact. My spine throbs, and my sweat drools down like murky water, it is as if I'm being confronted by death itself.
"Luna Evergreen isn't it?" Giovanni questions. His voice vibrates against the lustrous walls of his abode while my body is put to a halt. With sweat continuing to ooze out, I nod nervously while looking at the room's black abyss.
"Don't be afraid, please, have a seat." Giovanni suites my worried conscience with a gentle tone while offering me a seat in front of him. My neck feels like being burned under flames as I walk towards the seat being offered to me. I glanced on the table instead of Giovanni's blunt eyes nor did I dare to take a small glimpse of his Persian's fur.
"Your name is Luna Evergreen, am I correct?" Giovanni presumes with a more vicious tone than usual.
"Y.. Yes." I reply with a stuttering voice as the hair on my body starts to experience goosebumps. I've never been this timid and scared in my entire life before.
"I see... you're a girl with a burden dragging you down. If I'm not mistaken, you have a speech disorder known as Dysphemia.
I can see your pain just by looking in your crimson red eyes. A pierced heart that could no longer bear the buzzing insults and mockeries being thrown at your face." Giovanni's tone gradually inclines while pondering at my looks. Even when he tried to look at my soul through my eyes, I still avoided to stare back.
The inky darkness engulfs the frail light, diminishing all happiness and bliss that had risen with the sun. Now only silence lingers in the air. I shiver due to Giovanni's intimidating look, while a small sigh of anxiety leaps out of my mouth. Tersely, my eyes flicker to the black marble table while a feeling came rushing to me. A feeling as if, he is planning to replay his life to me. A story only known by few, a story which pierced his mind for more than forty years.
Giovanni's purpose and plan will be revealed in the next chapter. I changed Team Rocket's goal a bit so that it would be different from the anime and games.
