The entire mansion was basked under the warm light of morning sun. The soft light slipped in between the curtains, illuminating the dark bedroom.
Shouko was muddle-headed as she slowly woke up. She unconsciously patted the other side of the bed. It felt empty. The blurred image of her surrounding gradually turned clearer.
He was not here yet she still felt the residual warmth left by him on the bed.
Shouko groaned. Her abdomen was still aching and her legs felt weak. She propped herself up, getting ready to go to the bathroom.
Her eyes landed on the wall clock. A faint surprise flickered in her eyes once she realized it was already a quarter to 9 AM.
How long had she slept?
This feeling made her recalled the days when she had just woken up from the car accident. At that time, she couldn't walk properly due to a sprain. Her lower abdomen ached terribly too.
Shouko forced herself to stand up. Her steps were painstakingly slow.
I tried to make this chapter a bit lighthearted after the previous heavy one. I hope it didn't seem out of place
And, I got a fever and a sore throat. I hope it's just because of the weather. Having even a simple illness is fearful during this time
