Bolin glanced at him. "She was almost killed even before entering the town. I think the stress in the last few weeks got her. There is one more thing. She was poisoned shortly. And it seems she was before as well. The physician said she has two endings, live or die. There will be a problem with her. High fever and low health. He is not sure how long she will live. Mingli, I feel so useless...''
Mingli nodded. ''In front of poisons and sicknesses we are might less. No matter how much we train, but when we can't save a person from such a thing it is quite depressing. But not everything is lost. She is young. She still has a long way to go. There is still a chance for her to get healthier.''
Bolin sighed. ''I hope so... Go sleep. Looking at you no wonder she is worried. You look like someone punched both of your eyes. Completely dark.''
Mingli rubbed his head. ''I will wash a bit and then go sleep. In the morning we must find enough carriages to take over everything in one go. And we need two more servants. We can't let those two cook. And my cooking... So bothersome.'' He yawned and went to wash.
As soon he laid in his bed he fell asleep.
The next morning Shu Ya woke up feeling slightly dizzy. She looked next to her and sighed. Louli probably stood up to cook breakfast even tho she was wounded. Just then the door opened and Louli entered with a bowl of warm porridge.
Shu Ya ate it and then looked at Louli that waited until she was done to eat herself. ''You are foolish. Eat while it's still warm. You need to rest as well. Your wound still is dangerous. And do not try to act like it doesn't hurt you. Look those pale lips and ashen face. Come here. Lay down and wait for boys to call us.''
She stood up to wear clothes and even tho Louli tried to help her she gasped as she rose her arms. Shu Ya snapped at her. ''Stop moving. Or do you want me to call Mingli to hit yours but? I really will do that.''
Louli covered her back with both hands and suddenly blushed. ''Miss, you are naughty.'' But looking at her serious expression she knew she would really do that. She carefully sat down and ate while murmuring. ''Hitting me behind will make my wound open. It hurt already now.''
Shu Ya pointed at her with the finger. ''So you know it hurts but still runs around. As soon as you finish eating, go to bed. I will wake you up when its time to go. Sleep.''
She put clothes alone while staring at Louli.
What else could she do? She laid down and just fell asleep. Fearing that something might happen to Shu Ya, she was awake the whole night.
Shu Ya carefully opened the door as she heard movement outside and saw a bunch of people carefully transporting everything towards the carriages.
Looking at Mingli's healthy face she felt annoyed. Big men are recovering even over the night. She and Louli will need days, but Mingli just needed one night good sleep and he looks like nothing happened. So annoying...
Mingli could feel the stare on his back and looked at that direction. He saw pale-looking Shu Ya that stood there with a pout. "Miss, you are awake. Sorry about noise."
Shu Ya sighed. "They are not cats and its better I woke up on time. What if you had to wait for me. That's no go. Did they just come?"
He shook his head and pointed at dozen carriages that were already loaded. "We are halfway through."
"Did they eat breakfast? I'll check kitchen and scramble something. By the way, will we have enough carriages?" She knew that they had a lot of stuff. Including personal belongings.
Mingli nodded. "Dozen more are outside. Don't worry about breakfast. Let's hurry back and give them two coins more so they can just buy something. Miss, the pans and bowls in kitchen is what I bought. Should we take it as well?"
She nodded. "All, take it all. I got bunch of arable lands and I need all pans, bowls, and cutlery for next season workers."
He understood. "Then so be it. We have two of own carriages, so we have a bunch of space."
Not long afterward everything was packed. Louli, stayed awake the whole night and packed all her stuff as well. Shu Ya checked one more time all corners to see if she didn't forget something and then left.
Louli was waiting on the door and looking at the bare room. Shu Ya ordered to take all the extra chairs and curtains, anything that can be used back with them.
When they arrived at their new home, Mingli brought few servants to clean the house while Shu Ya and Louli sat there and waited.
This time Mingli brought two dozen of people from the city and most of them will be sent back.
Shu Ya and Louli looked how they worked and finally decided. When they finished they stood in big yard and waited.
Shu Ya pointed at small girl at the back. "Young one, why did you apply for this position?"
The girl was around her age and shyly stepped forward. "My family has too many children so all children chose to start working to support family."
"Where are others from your family?" Shu Ya turned towards two young men that stepped forward and looked at them coldly. "You two big people can support the whole family, why does your little sister have to work as well."
One of them rubbed his oily face and shrugged. "She is useless at home. Father taught us that females are without any use. When they get married they belong to another family. So why not making her work a little while she is with us?"
Louli wanted to say something but Shu Ya shook her head while Mingli and Bolin calmly stood there with crossed arms.
"So. Did you know if she writes a contract with me she will be forbidden to step into your home until the end of her life?" Her calm eyes fitted sarcasm but they didn't care much.
"Luckily she is the only a female child left in our family. Boys can always help in the field but girls... Seriously, what are good girls for?" The oily face started digging his ears making Shu Ya fell in disgust.
"Your mother is a girl as well. What would happen if she was not there for you?" She couldn't understand their logic.
"Mother is the mother. If one dies, we will bring our father another." His sentence made everyone step back from them and look in sorry at the girl.
