As she was literally almost dragged by old man back to the strange old-style residence she sighed inwardly. They had enough money to keep her as their child but still chose to treat her like this. So what if her family really got on the bad side of the Emperor. But she is their own bloodline. Shouldn't they just stop there?
In mid of the yard, he dropped her hand and yelled at servants that looked ta the two people in front and whole village behind arriving. ''Call for my son! Now!''
Shu Ya stood there shaking. Most of the villagers could see her shaking and felt sorry for her. Some even discussed taking her to their home afterwards. On their way to Kang's home, he sent one of the young people to run to Lord Ka's mansion and bring him here as urgency.
Lord Ka just arrived a few days ago and he already made many changes in surroundings. He chose to live in the village even if he travelled to the city every day to work. Calling him straight here was something no normal human would be able to do so.
Shu Ya considered everything while standing there and looking with a grievance at the huge house. The poor child had to live in such a good house like a servant but then realized that even servants had better clothes than she did.
A good looking young man came out of the house and looked at Shu Ya with disgust. ''What did she do this time?''
Elder Kang sat down on a chair that was prepared quickly for him and pointed at her. ''She went again to the mountain to gather the herbs. And saved some children from drowning. Such a disgrace. Showing her face like a commoner and running around like that every day.''
''You lost our Kang's face again?'' With just two steps he appeared in front of her and even before she could react he slapped her face.
Shu Ya dizzily fell on the floor and held her face. This time she felt really sorry for this child and started sobbing. ''Father, how can you be like this? I am your daughter as well, your own piece of flesh!'' She cried heartbrokenly making villagers shed tears with her. ''Yes, I went to the forest but only because I needed to survive. Survive father! In your house, your own daughter needed to survive. Not only that I saved children. Father, did humanity die? I had a choice between saving them and not, and I chose to do so, and I would do it again. They have parents that love them, but who do I have? My mother divorced and dead. My maternal family who knows where and you treating me less than a servant. Does this even make any sense?''
She rose her dress and showed all the patched pieces on it. Under the dress, she had bare feet and old straw sandals. It was almost winter time and she wore such clothes. ''If you hated me, you just could have sent me to maternal family. Why treating me less than human, less than an animal, less than the dust under your feet. Father...'' She rose her voice one more time. ''...I am your blood as well. Don't your Kang's family fear heavens? Deities see everything. Grandfather wants to cut me of Kang's family. Is that your thought as well?''
The anger that gathered in both lives made her speak louder and louder but she was just a small child, her voice got weaker and weaker until it became just a raspy voice broken by sobs. Shu Ya rose her eyes towards the man in front of her with desperation. ''Do you hate me so much? Father, do you?''
Not even blinking he spat on her. ''I hate the day I met your disgusting mother. Such a person was my wife, gave me such spawn of hell as my child. No respect for elders, no respect to her own clan, why should I feel sorry for you?''
Shu Ya slumped again and just watched on floor. ''Then so be it. It is your choice.''
Suddenly over her body, a shadow appeared. As she turned around she caught middleaged man's eyes that looked at her warmly. But she didn't know him so she just lowered her head.
''Lord Ka, I need your help. This child made my family loose face, so I want to raise the matter of her being cut out of family and erased from our name. Completely. Her name will be erased as well from our family book in the ancestral house. We just need you to be our witness.'' Elder Kan's stood up and swiftly walked towards the man.
He just heard a grunt and saw Lord Ka sitting on his chair. As Lord Ka came from higher nobility, Elder Ka could only sit on the side and wait for his decision.
''Child, do you understand what will happen now?'' Lord Ka spoke coldly.
''She is just dust under your feet, your Honor. No need to ask her too many things.'' Elder Kang stood up and pointed at her with disgust but as he turned his head towards Lord Ka he was stunned silent.
''You invited me so I will make choices. But this child is still someone from Kang's family. She should be asked as well.'' Lord Ka turned his sight towards Shu Ya. ''So, do you understand the situation?''
Shu Ya nodded weakly. ''I understand and accept. I will take over my maternal family name. just ask your Honor to help me get my mother's stuff.''
he chuckled. ''Of course. Let us clear fist these things.'' He looked at his servant. ''Bring the main book of entries and the paperwork needed.''
Suddenly two servants came forward with a bunch of papers and put on the table that they brought with it. He looked ta Elder Kang and nodded. ''Bring the family registry. I will sigh all the needed papers for this.''
Elder Kang waved his hand and the thin but a large book was presented in front of him. He rose his eyebrows and chuckled. ''What is this?'' Literally just couple dozen of names were written on it.
