บท 315: Lovebirds (2)

Just before Rong took the last stairs, she heard her mother narrating something in a passionate tone to her father. She paused to listen in.

"...so I went to where he was standing and said, 'You broke up with my daughter for this thing?'" 

"Really?" Chairman Mei asked. 

"Of course! The girl looked so scared when she saw me and scurried away!" 

Rong's mouth fell open. She had heard what happened from Lijuan and remembered it hadn't happened like that. 

"So what happened?" Chairman Mei asked. 

Rong wondered how come their strict father had the time to listen to made up stories. Only his wife could bring out this side of him. 

"He also looked scared. The kids were begging me to calm down so I didn't hit him. And then... they began to blame each other for the break up. He even accused Jiaying of being in love with Wang Jinhai?" 

"What? Really?" Her husband asked in surprise. 

"Of course not! He was just being jealous."
