บท 182: I said No

"He asked you to marry him?" Mother Mei asked again when Lijuan still didn't answer her question. 

"No." Lijuan denied vehemently. If her mother knew about it then things were going to get even more complicated

"But I am very certain I just heard you say Wang Yun asked you to marry him." Mother Mei said in a tone which showed she clearly didn't believe Lijuan. 

"I.. I was just joking with Shan. Ha ha ha!" Lijuan laughed awkwardly and hoped her mother would believe her now but everyone knew Mei Lijuan was a bad liar so it wasn't difficult for her mother to see through her.

"Don't be silly! You should talk to me." She said excitedly before moving over to Lijuan's bed then she signalled for her to come sit beside her. 

Lijuan reluctantly sat beside her mother and even though her mother was smiling, she wasn't. 

"I said no." Lijuan said when her mother opened her mouth to speak.
