Wang Yun's eyes widened when he heard her.
"I just started having severe menstrual cramp and I think I might get stained." She said without meeting his gaze.
"Oh no!" He couldn't believe he had to deal with that. He hadn't signed up for that when he decided to meet her at the auction.
"So... what are you... we going to do?" He asked in confusion.
"I'm sorry..." She apologized in advance for the help he was going to render.
"I need painkillers and a napkin." She said in a low and embarrassed voice.
Yun sighed deeply. How was he supposed to go get her her lady napkin?
When he noticed the pleading look she was giving him and the painful grimace evident on her face, he could tell she was both in pain and embarrassed.
"I'll be back shortly." He said standing up to leave. Maybe he could check around the hotel's shops to get her a sanitary napkin and something for the pain.
"You're leaving me?" She asked in panic.
"I'm not. I just need to figure out a way to help you. I'll be back. I promise." He added before walking away.
She bit her lips as she watched him leave.
"Since we saved the best for the last we are going to be employing a different method for this item. It'll be a silent auction... I'm sure most of you are well informed on how this works, but for the purpose of those that do not know I will explain briefly. The item will be placed on the table for interested guests to browse. Guests will bid by writing an amount on a sheet of paper placed next to the item. Please try to bid generously as it is for charity. The bidding price starts from thirty thousand dollars. You can come forward now." The Auctioneer said before stepping down from the stage.
Lijuan felt like screaming in frustration. What exactly was she being punished for? Why did they have to change the rules when it was finally time for her to bid? She wondered as tears gathered in her eyes. Had Yun not left just now, he probably would have been able to help her go place a bid. She didn't want to take any chances by standing up. She was very sure her white dress was stained already.
Yang Lei glanced at her with a frown and wondered why she wasn't getting up to bid. She had mentioned she was there for a necklace and hadn't seen her bid for the previous necklaces so he had guessed she was there for that particular one. So why was she still sitting there, looking nervous. He wondered.
Or she couldn't bid without her 'fiance' around?
He stood up to approach her. He wasn't going to let her cause a scene and claim she didn't know when the necklace was auctioned.
"Are you not going to bid for the necklace anymore?" He asked the moment he approached her.
Her face turned in embarrassment as she shook her head. How was she going to get up? She could only pray Yun would return before the bidding came to an end.
"Why? Didn't you say that was the reason you came for the auction? Or you changed your mind?" He asked with a confused frown.
"I can't stand up." She said in a small voice.
"Why?" He asked again with a confused frown.
"Because I can't. So please let me be." Lijuan snapped at him angrily.
Yang Lei could not seem to understand her. He could see she wasn't okay but there is nothing he could do so he walked away.
"We have finally come to the end of tonight's event." She heard one of the organizers of the event say and heard him give the vote of thanks before she felt the tears drop from her eyes. She had wasted her time all for nothing.
By the time Yang Lei returned to the hall after seeing off most of the organizers and guests he frowned when he noticed Lijuan was still sitting there. She was the only guest left in the hall.
"Why are you still sitting here? Everyone has gone home and the cleaners need to clear the hall." Yang Lei told her with a frown.
"I'm waiting for him." She said wiping the tears from her face in embarrassment.
"You can wait outside or at the reception. It doesn't have to be in here." Yang Lei pointed it out to her.
"And you think I don't know that?" Lijuan asked turning to look at him with her hands clutching her purse tightly. He noticed her tear streaked face and frowned.
"Don't tell me he abandoned you here. How could he do that?" Yang Lei asked angrily.
"Sorry I'm late." Yun apologized walking up to her. He gave Yang Lei a look that told him he wasn't needed so he should get lost.
Yun quickly took off his suit jacket and wrapped it around Lijuan asking her to stand up, he quickly picked up her backpack.
Yang Lei eyed him as he kept wondering where he knew him from. He stood there and watched as Yun escorted escorted her out of the hall.
Yun led her towards the ladies' room which was very close to the hall, slowly walking behind her to block her back from view.
He handed over her backpack to her alongside the bag containing the things he had gotten her before standing outside the door to wait for her.
She winced when she got into the ladies' room and found out that her gown wasn't stained. Though her undies was stained but it wasn't very serious. She could have risked standing up had she known.
She took the drug first and quickly took off the white gown and changed into the male outfit she had been wearing earlier.

"Hello! I'm Yang Lei." Lei said extending his hand for a handshake while Yun glanced at him disinterestedly.
''I know who you are. Is there a problem?" Yun asked not pretending to hide the fact that he didn't like him.
"You look really familiar... I was wondering if we've met before." Lei said dipping his hand into his pocket.
"Seeing as you don't even remember ever having met me... I can't help but wonder why you would talk to my fiancee in that manner." Yun said with a frown.
"I'm sorry about that. It was a clear misunderstanding." Lei quickly explained.
"I'm Wang Yun. We attended the same High school." Yun said after a slight pause.
Yang Lei paused to think for a few seconds before he finally remembered him.
"Oh! Wang Yun? I could tell you looked really familiar. I've always admired you." Lei said with a pleased smile.
"You were recently appointed as the Vice President of Wang Corporation right? I remember reading that somewhere recently. Congratulation." Lei said again.
"Thanks." Yun said completely taken aback by Lei's candidness.
"Can we hangout together sometime? Maybe share a bottle of wine? I could learn a thing or two from you. My grandfather would really be impressed if I have someone like you as my friend." Lei hurried to explain.
Yun considered him for a while before taking out his complementary card from his wallet and offered it to him.
Lei took it from him before handing his to Yun. "Thanks. I'll give you a call." Lei said with a polite nod before walking away.
Yun frowned slightly when he turned to see Lijuan coming out from the ladies' room dressed in male clothing. "This outfit looks familiar." He said before remembering that was what she had been wearing the first time he saw her.
"They didn't catch you with the ring that day, did they?" He asked curiously.
"No. But I went back to pay for it." Lijuan said tightly knowing what he was talking about.
"From the look on your face I guess you weren't able to get the necklace." Yun observed.
"If only you had returned earlier, I would have had a fair chance at getting it." She mumbled under her breath sadly.
Yun opened his mouth to say something but decided otherwise. He was tired of her ungrateful and annoying character. She couldn't even thank him for the stress he had gone through to get her the drug. Did she have any idea how he moved around till he found a pharmacy to get her the drug for her cramp? Instead of gratitude he was getting what?
He looked at her angrily and began to walk away.
