บท 44: Painful tears

Jeremy had angry tears in his eyes, but he refused to let them fall. His already red eyes flashed a darker shade of red as he turned around to look at Chloe. 

Chloe felt very terrible for subjecting him to this kind of abuse. She may have appeared cold and tough to others, but that was only because she was trying to keep the self-esteem that her family had destroyed. She already hated the fact that she could not stand tall when faced with these people. She had been able to find her feet when challenging her parents, but she had not been prepared for her aunt and her family. And she didn't expect things to escalate this far. Seeing how hurt Jeremy was now, she hated herself even more.

"I... a-am sorry. I... didn't p-plan for... any of that to hap-pen." Chloe said softly, blinking back tears. 

"You didn't plan for any of that to happen?"
