It took her a while to figure out what it was, but nonetheless she managed to come to a conclusion for herself.
'Did he break his promise?' Lillian thought to herself as she pushed the duvet off her body. She forced her tired body to sit up on the bed, stretching her arms out in the air to ease her tense shoulders a little.
She was regretting sleeping in her dress now. Because of it, her posture had been so bad that some parts of her body were now aching, protesting against her carelessness.
She spent the next couple of minutes sitting in the same spot on the mattress, in the same position as she eyed the man who was sleeping on the sofa.
Blake had taken off his coat which was resting on the armrest of the same sofa. The top two buttons of his shit were done, and the cuffs of his crisp black shirt were folded up to his elbows. His precious cufflinks were placed neatly on the small table next to the small pile of clothes, glinting under the dim light.
