"After searching a whole week for that jack ass the police finally found him hiding at his cousin's house in Orlando." Akio told Himari as he ended the story.'
Himari began tearing up and hugged Akio tightly. He usually doesn't like people feeling bad for him but the warmth of her hug felt so nostalgic and he caved in. Tears began to fall from his cheeks as he laid his head on her shoulder.
The two stayed in that position for a while until Himari let him go and looked at his puffy face. She began looking at him with a very serious facial expression.
"What's with the look?" He asked feeling very confused.
"Do you still practice archery?" She asked.
"I haven't even been able to pull the case that my bow and quiver is in from under my bed since I shoved it down there." He replied.
"Let's take it out, I want to see it" She said eagerly.
"Uhhh sure" He said hesitantly.
They both got on their knees and Akio pulled the case from under the bed. He slowly opened it knowing he'd more than likely regret it. As it opened up completely Himari's face lit up.
"That's a very beautiful bow. The craftsmanship is amazing." She said excitedly.
"Well my dad was a wizard with materials and crafting." He replied with a smile.
"Funny you say wizard." Himari said as she got off her knees with the bow and quiver in her hand
"Excuse me?" Akio asked confused.
"Sit down on the bed, close your eyes and hold these." She said in a demanding tone.
Akio got up quickly and followed her instructions.
"Is she trying to get freaky with the bow? I hope she knows I'm not one of those open minded S&M guys" He thought as his heart started racing.
"I was hesitating on whether I should take you with me or not, but after hearing that story I know that you need this." Himari said in a serious tone.
"Is this how she talks dirty? Or is it some kinda kidnapping role play? I mean it's kinda weird but it's working." He thought as he got aroused.
"Where are you taking m-?"
Himari cut him off and began kissing him, but before Akio could wrap his arms around her he felt his heart stop. He felt as if he was outside of his own body. When he opened his eyes he saw Himari next to him as they traveled through what looked like space. Himari looked a bit transparent and when Akio looked at his hand he realized that he was transparent aswell.
"What's going on! Wait, why can't I talk?!" He thought as he began to panic.
"Calm down, you might mess up the process if you keep freaking out like that" Himari told Akio through telepathy.
"Nah this is way too weird. Let me go!" Akio said as he began to struggle out of Himari's grip.
"Calm down! I don't know what might happen if you-"
Before Himari could finish her sentence he broke free and they both went into a bright light.
All of a sudden everything became dark and Akio couldn't see Himari anymore. He began feeling uneasy and felt an ominous presence in front of him. Two bright red eyes then lit up and Akio kneeled instinctively.
"My child!" A deep voice from within the darkness said.
"I sense great promise in you! Your human side may hold you back, but stand proud! Fore you are the first son sent to Mago by the great Lord Sanguis of Tartarus! Use my skills, gifts and abilities to impose free will amongst the humans!" The voice continued.
"What is this guy talking about?" Akio thought.
"Now go my child! Let them know the name Tartarus throughout the land!" The voice said as the red eyes disappeared and Akio began to feel drowsy.
Akio then passed out and woke up in a forest with his bow and quiver on his stomach. He also noticed a sort of pentagram tattoo on the left side of his chest. His muscles also became more defined and strong along with his abs. His vision and hearing were also greatly enhanced.
"This is weird. I feel taller and stronger, but I also feel lighter at the same time." Akio said as he flexed his biceps.
Akio then jumped halfway up a tree with little effort. He began goofing around and jumping from tree to tree trying to get further with every jump.
Suddenly he felt a strange scared feeling in his stomach, one he had felt before so he jumped to a higher tree and looked down.
To his horror it was a giant terrifying monster carrying around a mutilated fox corpse in its mouth.
"If this is a dream I want to wake up right now." Akio thought.
Akio then jumped from tree to tree trying to get as far away from the beast as possible. To his luck he made it to a river near the outskirts of the forest. As he went to go take a sip from the clear water of the river he glanced at his reflection and noticed that his hair turned jet black.
"That's funny I kinda look like a demon from one of those anime's I watched." Akio said as he looked at his reflection with a strange face.
"You know other than that beast I just witnessed and the poor choice in character design, this dream isn't too bad." He said with a smirk.
"Who dares to drink from the river without my permission!" An irritating voice said.
Akio turned around and saw a hideous, green skinned humanoid type creature with long ears standing a couple meters behind him.
"Are you a goblin by any chance?" Akio asked with an eery smile on his face.
"Of course I am jack ass! What else would I be?" The goblin replied with its head up and its hands on its hip.
Akio stood there in silence with the same eery smile for a couple of seconds. He swiftly drew his bow and put 6 arrows in the goblin's torso while screaming "Go to hell Jeffrey!" at the top of his lungs.
Pretending your parent's murderer is a monster in your dream would've probably been fine if this were actually a dream. Akio came to realize this when he went to pull out his arrows from the goblin's torso and is stopped halfway by a female goblin who ran crying to her now dead fiancé.
"Why would you do something like this? What did he ever do to y-?" She noticed his black hair and sensed his somewhat dark colored mana.
"You really are one of them aren't you? A member of the demon clan!" She said in horror.
Akio couldn't hear what the woman was saying because he was afraid. Afraid for two reasons, reason one being that this might not be a dream and reason two being that he enjoyed murdering an innocent creature. Though he feels guilty now he can still remember the thrill of the kill and part of him is lusting for more.
"I'm so sorry, I couldn't control myself!" Akio said with remorse.
"It's too late, blood must have blood." The Goblin woman said with hate in her eyes.
"I will give you 2 days to live your pitiful life peacefully as my fiancé's soul finds peace. After those two days have come to an end, me and my entire tribe will hunt you like the low life prey you are." The goblin woman said as she dragged the dead body back into the forest with her.
Akio began panicking and crossed the river into the deeper part of the forest. On the bright side those goblins might not kill him after all, the stronger monsters in the deeper parts of the forest might end him before the two day grace period is over.
