Mystery POV:

"What are you going to do, Henri," I waited a few moments with no answer, Henri's eyes locked on the ground, emotions whirling in his eyes. I grabbed his arm tugging his shirt "Henri, don't tell me?" My voice hitched in my throat as I choked on my sobs.

"Protect our baby and give her a lovely name, I love you, my dearest Bella," Moist lips crashed against my forehead with utmost gentleness. He threw me a wry loving smile, before turning to Fredrick rushing at him with fury.

"HENRI NO!!"

He didn't listen to me, thrusting his sword at Fredrick. Fredrick tossed the baby into the air, meeting Henri's sword with his own. I scrambled to my feet, running to her, reaching up to catch her and hugging her to my chest. "Fredrick, are you crazy!!?"

"Take the baby, it's not like you can save her, my sweet, naïve Bella," Fredrick laughed.

"Bella, run!" Henri shouted.

Tears gushed down my face as I ran out the door, throwing one last glance to Henri. I pushed my baby into my chest, protecting her from the flying twigs as I ran through the forest. My heart hammered in my chest and sweat spouted from my pores and rushed down my face. My thighs and face bled from the branches constantly whacked at my skin.

"Child, I'm so sorry, blame your mother, I brought you into this madness," I whispered into the baby girl's ear as I rocked her in my arms. Not a single cry erupted from her, eyes remained closed as she slept peacefully. "Dear child, I'll save you no matter what, even if it's the last thing I do," I kissed her forehead.

I reached a large temple, what remained of it at least. The former grandeur was nowhere to be seen as the white temple that stood thousands of feet tall crumbled. Bodies lay everywhere, the air permeated with the metallic scent of blood. I ran to the former entrance, laying my baby on a smooth rock. I lifted my hand, raising the colossal pieces of rubble at chucking them to the side away from my baby. With the entrance cleared, I picked up my child and ran through the white halls to the altar at the front. Soft footsteps vibrated in the still air, my breathing pounding into my ears.

Once I reached the altar with a gold and black throne still erected even after the collapse of the temple I plopped to the ground. "Please, I beg of you, help my daughter!!" I kneeled and pressed my forehead to the ground.

The ground shook, and thunder roared. The boulders fell from the roof from the shaking that rumbled the entire world. Cracks webbed from the throne through the entire temple, climbing up even the walls and roof. A crushing force pressed against my back as I kneeled, the thick suffocating force filling the whole remains of the temple. I lowered my head further, knowing full well that man was there.

"This is quite a commotion you've kicked up," The man's deep icy voice pulsated the air.

"I apologize, we could not fulfill our duties,"

"That's true, your sole clan's purpose was to guard me while I slumbered, yet, somehow you're asking for my protection," He laughed the sweet, melodious laugh rippling the tense atmosphere.

"I apologize," I repeated

"My favours are expensive, how will you repay me?"

"... I have nothing of worth that you do not own already," he sighed at my response.

"That's correct, so in return let me have a try of that delicious cuisine made in the Elven and human continents,"

"Yes, M'lord,"

"Good, so let me seal myself in her, maybe I can get some tasty food once I'm released," He said jokingly, but I knew he was dead serious.

"M'lord, you will kill her if you seal yourself in her,"

"I know, so I'll just break up my soul," My eyes widened at his words.

"M'lord-"

"It'll be fine, it's just that even if I break them into tiny pieces she will still die from my soul shard, you know what that means right?"

"M'lord..." my words died in my throat. " I'll feed her my power every day to balance the energy in her,"

"You know what happens then right," He stood and his footsteps echoed in my ears, getting louder and louder as he neared me.

"Yes, M'lord,"

"Tell me what that means, Bella,"

"It means... I die,"

"Good. Once I seal myself in her, you must give birth to her again," He opened my palm, placing a small necklace in it.

"What do you mean M'Lord?" I clenched my palm into a fist.

"That's the most efficient way to rebalance her power. She'll return to your womb and in that time her energy should be partially rebalanced but even after you give birth to her again you will still need to supplement her with your energy, do you understand?"

"Yes, M'lord," I took a deep breath to calm my surging emotions on the brink of spilling over.

"Good, keep this with you," He handed me a shimmering light blue pendant.

"Thank you, M'lord," I didn't know what the necklace did, but I placed my full trust in the man.

"Good, I'll leave my body here, once my soul is gone. What is your child's name?"

I looked down to the baby and smiled, "I'll name her, Indigo,"

"Lovely name. I hope you know once I seal myself in her, her demon's side will be sealed as well,"

"I am aware, thank you, May Arcadia be forever prosperous,"

"May Arcadia be forever prosperous," He repeated. He walked back to his throne, plopping into it. "You may look up," I lifted my eyes from the ground. A bright light shone around the man. A bright light emerged from his body, with many thin layers of various colours basking the white temple in iridescent rays. The light split and shot into different directions, and one speck of that light lowered to Indigo's stomach, sinking into her skin and disappearing soon after. Her red instantly turned deep blue. Her body shone in a bright light before turning into an orb. The orb was pure white, but inside it was speckled with blue, red and gold sparks.

The orb flew towards me and settled on my stomach and sunk into my skin; I was pregnant. The light dimmed and the eerie silence returned to the temple. I stood up and looked to the man on the throne. He was lifeless, yet he looked as if he was only in a deep slumber. His hands gripped the handles of the gold and black throne engraved with strange symbols. He was covered in head to toe in a heavy black cloak with golden embroidering accenting the cuffs and hem. Not even I knew what this man looked like. I looked away from his face, shrouded in darkness under the hood of the cloak. I ran to a back room and picked up a crystal, crushing it, transporting me to the human continent.

What is Arcadia? Cloaked man, who are you? What is the pendant for, is it just some accessory or is it something more? *thinking face* (I can't use emojis, so here's my attempt)
