บท 25: ch 25
After the the announcement of my engagement the capital went into uproar it became the new hot topic among the socialites being under such heavy surveillance made it nearly impossible to achieve anything without the the entire sultanate knowing what was going on putting a halt on any designs I had had on the capital for now so I must bide my time and wait although to say this venture was a bust would be a lie but for now I must leave things mostly in the hands of the Lernea household mostly as they have more to lose than Savita who is also involved but is more of a conditional ally.
That said I went straight to work communicating back and forth with the the Hydra family in order to create a functional portal between the Lernea semi plane and the Hydra semi plane after I revealed to Haifa that I am not naga but half spirit because now the Lernea household is too deep in and can't back out because it would mean the destruction of their household and the execution of all it's members she took it better than I expected I mean she only tried to kill me at first before I reminded her that she was already too involved and they publicly said Lernea said she had to marry and the only way out was to admit that she was dead which would lead to their household's destruction.
what pissed me off about this whole situation was the fact Amin who was supposed to help me set up a fake identity was basically completely useless as he remained uninvolved in the entire process up until the point his got promoted and he decided to move to the capital as he grew bored with relaxing in his city.
Amin:"What's up dear old son of mine"
Me:"Really now you decide to show up?"
Amin:"Of course now that I have been promoted I need to have a place in the capital plus I missed my son"
Me:"Bullshit! Your just here to reap the benefits of my work without providing anything"
Amin:"I did contribute"
Me:"What did you contribute?"
Amin:"My family name and legacy that without you would not have had the chance to set all this up so easily and most importantly my scale pattern which is very important to naga that I see you are still using"
The entire scenario was as he said basically he put his entire family at risk by having me act as his representative using his family's name and naga scale patterns were apparently a big deal for their entire species but I don't care what I know is that he gambled on me and it paid off and now he is trying to collect on my efforts after I laid the ground work and started building powerful connections and I need him to understand that there are no free meals especially from me as everything has a price.
Me:"Fine if you are going to be in the capital representing me we need a contract because if disappear you have nothing" Amin is clearly nonplussed about this
Amin:"What do you mean? I already have an understanding with the Hydra family"
Me:"Exactly with the the family not me if you want the benefits I personally attained then you need a contract with me as your well aware I'm half spirit so I'll make the contract provisional because you have a relationship with my family but don't think I'm a Jack ass and let you do as you please with my connections and make decisions on my behalf without my permission"
While I'm explaining all this I assume my spirit form which I have never tried before this point as there was never a need and I was too weak to be able become one and never needed to flex this level of power until now as nobility and politicians are hard to coerce without the threat of of suffering or death that being the case I'm hoping my first transformation is intimidating and and not adorable as I have no time to check myself out in this form if I do regardless of what I look like it show of insecurity but looking at his face I don't think I will have further problems.
