If such was the price to pay to avoid an insurrection, then it was rather cheap.

With her conscience lighter, she filled her lungs and turned to the crowd.

"Listen up! I'm now going to explain how we're going to cross the forest"

Her voice was loud and abundantly clear, which shushed the entire crowd.

She had begun noticing that it was more and more restless at the idea of crossing the dangerous area, and she had to admit they were right.

After all, these villagers weren't fools. They had lived here long enough to understand the dangers it hid and how ruthless and unforgiving it was.

They were all well aware that a single miss-step would dig them an early grave.
