บท 154: Chapter 29: Destination.

"Is this it?", Eldest Lackey said while setting foot on the giant island in the middle of sea.

'A barren land.'

The island unlike it's counterparts lacked any sort of vegetation, for as far as his eye could see, the place only had sharp and tough rocks.

It was a deserted place where no life could hope to flourish.

"I don't like it."

Eldest Lackey turned his head looking at God Soma who was touching the island with his hand.

"This place gives me a bad premonition.", God Soma looked at the place with a serious expression.

Just standing on this island gave him a sense of anxiety he couldn't quite explain.

"William."

They both turned towards him, looking at his silent figure standing in the middle of the island, as if asking question, asking if this was the right place or not?

"Leave this place.", William said in a plain voice.

"What about the One-Eyed-Black-Dragon?", Eldest Lackey asked in confusion.

"You're standing on it right now."

"Wtf!?!"

Eldest Lackey lost his footing and fell straight on the shap rocks crying out in pain.

Rubbing his butt, he said in a pained voice.

"You mean this massive island is the great calamity?"

"Yes."

For a moment Eldest Lackey felt his mind go blank.

He gazed down at the island with a dazed look.

No way.

This massive island.

Almost half the size of the dungeon City.

Was the black dragon?

With a giant force, Eldest Lackey pulled out the bastard sword hanging from his back and slashed down at the ground without hesitation.

Then under his horror filled eyes, the bastard sword made by a master blacksmith broke into tiny pieces.

Looking down, it only left a slight sent in the ground before breaking.

You're kidding?

How the fck is anyone even suppose to fight this thing?

His most powerful attack probably felt less than an itch to it? right?

With cold sweat sliding down his back, Eldest Lackey said.

"Boss...let's pull back....."

It was said in the most serious tone he could muster.

Behind him, Haruhine and Emile also attacked the ground leaving behind some small dents and scars before breaking their weapons.

"This might be a bit too much.....", Eldest Lackey's voice sounded grave.

'We won't even be able to run away since it's in the middle of ocean.'

This was a death trap.

Suddenly his respect for the hero of old, the one who fought the Black Dragon and took one of its eye increased by a whole lot.

The fact that he didn't run away and even fought till death was worthy of praise.

"Leave, Board the ship and get as far away from here as you can."

Eldest Lackey looked at William for a moment.

Surrounded by jet black armour, holding a dark blue sword, and those crystal clear eyes which could be seen from between the gaps of his helmet.

As if wanting to engrave that image lonely figure in his mind, he gave it a deep look before turning around and leaving.

Haruhime stood silently, staring at William with red eyes, she wanted to say something, but didn't know what to say, the rapier in her hand also broke with just a few strikes.

'Is the gap already so big?'

She wondered with a heavy heart, before turning around and leaving as well.

On the other hand, His Soma quickly went through the bag in his waist and took out a golden coloured potion.

"William, take it."

The moment William caught the potion, an indescribable warmth seemed to seep inside his body.

"Potion of life.", God Soma said with a calm voice.

"A drop is enough to bring the dead back to life."

It was the very peak of alchemy.

William couldn't help but look back at God Soma.

And in God Soma's eyes, he found the same feeling of helplessness that he suffered from.

It was something only experienced by those who stood at the very peak of their paths.

Their fields may be different.

But their achievements were the same.

Placing the potion inside his armour so it won't break, William waved at God Soma telling him to leave as well.

Without a doubt the most useful existence after William in this expedition was none other than God Soma who could literally bring the dead back to life.

When the boat had turned but a tiny dot, William turned his head and looked down at the baren land.

Placing his hand on the sword hanging by his side, he took it out making the dark blade tremble in excitement.

"Leviathan."

Weapon forged from the scales of one of the three great calamities.

A blade forged in poison strong enough to change the colour of the sea.

He found it lying inside the deepest floor of the dungeon, held by a corpse long dead.

Monsters didn't even dare to approach it, that's why it was left their unattended.

"One-Eyed-Black-Dragon."

William pointed the blade to the ground.

"It's about time you lost you're other eyes."

With zero hesitation he pierced down.

Skill *[Sword Emperor](SS)* is taking effect.

---------------------

Far away on the boat, God Soma and the other members were constantly staring at the island far off in the distance, unwilling to miss even a single moment of it.

Just when their eyes were drying up.

A familiar white flash covered their vision.

"It has started."

In the next moment.

Before they could react.

The very sea trembled.

The flash of light disappeared and massive land engulfing waves started forming in the sea, throwing the boat in dishary.

"Get a hold of yourself!", Eldest Shouted at the top of his lungs.

He tried his best to dela with the sudden situation, but before he could move, an ancient most primordial fear assaulted his body.

His heart beat quickened, and his feet went cold, the terrible tsunami like waves no longer seemed dangerous to him.

Because there was something much deeper which seemed to dig straight into his heart.

Barely turning his head, he saw it.

A figure rising from the ocean, the black calamity which lay waste to everything in its path.

The very manifestation of fear itself.

The-One-Eyed-Black-Dragon.

Seeing it, Eldest Lackey came to a terrifying realisation.

They were all wrong.

The island which he thought was half the size of the dungeon City.

Was merely but the claw of the massive monstrosity.

A terrible feeling of helplessness assaulted his body.

Can a human even fight such a monster?

Haruhine's teeth were teethering, she tried to keep her mind straight by biting down on her tongue, but no amount of pain seemed to be able to make this fear go away.

*Roar*

That beastly roar was the final touch.

*Thud*

Without a single delay, Haruhime's butt powerlessly landed straight on the deck with a thumb.

She wasn't the only one, the others were the same.

Everyone....

Everyone but one.

Haruhime's eyes shook in disbelief seeing God Soma standing straight on the deck.

"Now my child....."

Amid this apocalyptic scene, God Soma's eyes shone with fanaticism.

"Show me you're adventure."

As if replying to him, a voice which seem to tear through this sea of fear rang out.

"Silence lizard."

*Roaarrrr*

Followed by One-Eyed-Black-Dragon's painful scream.
