"Cullen please," Bayard pleaded, taking some steps in his direction.

"Stop, your majesty. One move and you would be giving her what she wants. Your death."

"Then so be it," he clenched his fist at his side, wanting to dash at his sons. "It is better."

"No. Too many deaths. I cannot. Please or else…"

"Think of Nova. You cannot do this." Owen chipped in and took a step forward, wanting to block his path when Cullen pressed the sword closer to his chest. 

"Don't come close or I would…"

"Stop, please."

"If you do, we would only end up killing each other. I never knew you as my brother and that is my biggest regret, not knowing who I was, my sister," a flash of pain smeared in his eyes as his gaze swept to her.
