Sadly for her he was not an easy person either."Whether you like it or not things happened so from now on I will be staying in this house."
He sat down and also started eating."Okay. I was planning on moving either way. Summer vacation is ending soon so I will move into my college dorm."She said and continued eating.
"There's no need for that you will be staying here with me."He smirked at her. She gripped her fork and stubbornly refused."Mr.Bianco don't worry I won't be of any bother to you."
"This year is your last year of college anyway I don't think it is necessary for you to live in the school dorms." He responded. Even if he had not paid much attention to her he knows she has been ahead of her class for two years straight and now would soon have an official ceremony.
"....." Yes, she will have her ceremony soon but why does he care? She wondered. Two years ago she was so filled with grief that she distracted herself by studying non-stop. This caused her to suddenly skip a few grades.
She did not say anything and continued her breakfast. Even if he said that Ashlyn was way to determined to even listen to him. Once done she stood up with her plate and started to walk towards the kitchen.
Before she could continue walking he stood up and grabbed her wrist."I apologize. I misunderstood you for these two years....and am sorry for last night."
He was actually pretty sincere. He might not tend to apologize a lot because of his high status but he wasn't an asshole. And he knew he really owed her an apology.
"Mmm," She didn't say any words and shook his hand away. He sighed and sat back down to finish his breakfast.
He had to admit her food was delicious. He had never felt the need to enjoy food. His life was always working and more work. Food was just a necessity for him to survive. He would hardly eat two meals every day when he got time and never bothered to enjoy it. As long as he got his nutrients and calories for the day he was done.
When he finished he went inside the kitchen and found Ashlyn washing the dirty plates and utensils she used to eat and cook. He looked at her and truly felt bad. He never would have imagined that the person who he pictured as pathetic and spoiled would be cooking for him and washing dirty plates. Everything she had done grabbed his interest and proved him wrong.
He felt like he had yet to learn more about her. This is why he decided to stay with her from now on." You don't have to do this." He told her.
She ignored him and continued to wash the dishes. He walked near her and stopped her by grabbing her wrist. She let go of the dishes and he let go of her wrist thinking he had won. She dried her hands and walked away."Your right I shouldn't be doing this. Do me a favor and wash your own plate. Okay bye~" She told him and walked away with a smirk.
He froze. After finally regaining his senses he shook his head and did as she said. Ashlyn walked back to her room. She leaned on her door and cried silently. She was not sure why she cried. She just felt like crying. After two minutes she felt energetic again. As if fulfilled. Maybe she just needed to let go for a second. It had always been like this.
Suffer but keep fighting. Her motto consisted of letting the pain sink in for a minute and then acting unbothered the next minute.
Sometimes she just needed to cry to let all her stress out. She took her phone and checked the notifications. There were a few missed calls from her friends and.....
She sighed when she saw there were about 12 missing calls from her father. She called back remembering what day it is for her.
The day after her mother's death(yesterday) is her birthday and her step-sister's. It's this time of the year again. The last time she went home was for her father's birthday 4 months ago where she was humiliated for not having her husband with her.
It was not always like this. Her life was bright and beautiful. Her parents loved each other and spoiled her like the little princess she was. Until the incident happened and her mother died.
Her father was doting to her mother and also on her. Still he was always a serious man even back then but after her mom's death everything changed.
She was treated like a stranger in her own home. And she broke inside. She had to hide her pain in silence. For some reason she never spoke to anybody anymore at least not her relatives. Her step-sister and mother aren't like you'd expect; they aren't bullies to the extent of trying to kill her, they are just cold and don't get along well with her.
Although she knows they are scheming by nature in reality they just follow her father's plans.
"You finally decide to call back."Her father stated coldly. She instantly lowered her head. Seeing that she was not going to talk her father sighed."I forgot you can't even talk."He mocked. Ashlyn gripped her fists." Right your sister will hold a party for her birthday you better be there" He informed coldly.
Ashlyn put the phone in speaker and sat on the bed. She placed the phone next to her thigh and listened to her father.
Conner had gone to look for Ashlyn and he guessed she would be in her room so he went there. When he was about to open the door what he heard was the following:
"I need you to bring your husband. Clearly he doesn't like you so you should let your sister meet him."
"After you will divorce him and let your sister marry him. I will send you abroad and you won't have to bother about the Brown family..." He paused and continued."You're an embarrassment to my family anyway."
"If not for Conner's grandfather I would have never allowed you to stay in the family."
"Do what you can to bring him here tonight I will send you the address"
"Don't disappoint me any further."
BEEP
Ashlyn had not noticed that she was already in tears. When she heard him hung up she started sobbing silently.
Conner then realized there were so many things he did not know.
