บท 3: Chakra Control
{The Same Hour...}
Fumio was currently taking a break from soccer, now getting tired quicker due to the other kid's significant improvement in soccer skills. Especially two particular kids that were older than him by two years.
When his violet book seemingly appeared out of nowhere, there wasn't any reaction from the kids playing, nor the caretakers watching. This told him that it couldn't be seen by others, sparing him from a lot of trouble.
'Open Chakra Control Guidebook,' Fumio said in his head, wondering if he'll be able to understand the book's contents. Recalling the unnecessarily complicated books, that he would be forced to study during his senior year of high school.
The slightly-heavy violet book, on his lap, shook before it's cover downgraded, from its original purple interconnected-runes to just a plain-looking blue color with a dark blue outline.
Additionally, it was lighter and held way fewer pages than the previous version of the magical book.
"Fumio! Join our team! We're losing badly..." A 6-year-old kid, playing goalie, shouted before noticing the ball passing under his feet and frowning.
"No! Join ours! We need to win haarder!" A 4-year-old boy yells in response.
Fumio ignored them and opened the guidebook to its first page.
[Introduction to Chakra]
[Chakra is everywhere... The Chakra inside organisms are the easiest to detect and manipulate.]
[By using Hand-signs, Humans can manipulate this Chakra to produce the desired outcome. The intensity of the chakra-manipulation requires a relative level of Chakra Control.]
After reading the first, very short page Fumio already knew this information, but it helped him by confirming it for him.
He quickly moved onto the next page.
[Introduction to Chakra Control]
[The lowest level of Chakra Control involves the act of keeping something light stuck to the Host's outer-skin, such as a leaf.]
[To keep the leaf attached for a more prolonged amount of time, Host needs to focus a balanced amount of Chakra, at the skin that the leaf is in contact with. Meaning that it must have the right level of concentration and consistency.]
[*Using bursts of Chakra, rather than a constant supply, lessens the amount of Chakra used, allowing more time for Host to practice, before running out of Chakra.*]
Fumio closed the book and decided to try out the advice given in the last paragraph, now feeling very optimistic.
He stood up and left to find the pile of leaves he had collected when he snuck out of the orphanage the day prior...

{3 Month Later...}
Fumio had already mastered Leaf Concentration now. Even making it more Chakra-efficient by following the Chakra Control Guidebook's advice, via using bursts of Chakra to keep it stuck. However, it would need more mental concentration.
He wanted to be able to use the Chakra-efficient Leaf Concentration to keep a hidden leaf stuck to his palm while he played soccer with the orphans, who were now qualified enough to compete against high school teams.
So it took Fumio two extra months to fully master it.
Additionally, he had learned that the book would update its short pages according to the things he would discover.
Sometimes, it would also add an explanation after describing his discovery, which would vary in its level of helpfulness.
Anyways, Fumio was satisfied with his progress over the three months and felt ready to move on to climbing trees, the Ninja-way, of course.
He was able to convince the caretakers to allow him to leave by telling them his goal of becoming a Shinobi, which they were surprisingly very supportive of.
'I guess Hidden Rock Shinobi are looked up to quite a bit here,' Fumio thought as he left the orphanage.
The orphanage was a little far from the Capital's rocky houses and buildings, but it was a good thing because of how few trees there were inside the Capital.
Fumio picked a good-looking tree, that was close to the orphanage, and laid down under it, with both of his bare feet placed on the tree.
"Now... How do I do this?" He thought, before deciding to replicate what he did with Leaf Concentration, but on a larger scale.
He closed his eyes to help his concentration and tried keeping his right foot stuck on the tree's surface, leading a steady stream of Chakra to the bottom of his foot.
After a few days, Fumio felt he had gotten the hang of it, so he stood up and placed his right foot on the tree and used the other to stay standing.
He knew better than to supply too much Chakra, so he slowly increased the amount of Chakra used. And after only a few hours, he had memorized the right amount of Chakra needed.
Afterward, Fumio noticed that he had enough Chakra to do it one last time.
This time, he placed his other foot on the tree, while simultaneously dividing the amount of Chakra that was being sent to his right foot, equally between his two feet.
"Wooooh!!! I did it!" Fumio, who was sweating profusely, shouted as he lifted his hands up in triumph before he felt the terror of suddenly falling and laughed once he fell softly on the grass below.
