Gin stopped his actions and patted the brawny fiend's shoulder, "Good boy!"
Shaun watched everything with a calm expression, but the two girls Luna and Feal were trying their best not to regorge the orange-berry juice they drank in the morning.
It's their second time meeting someone so cruel and that too, tearing a person's arm with a calm expression. In their eyes, Gin looked more frightful than the Fiends.
"Just promise, you will give me a quick death." The brawny Fiend asked while Gin reluctantly agreed.
Soon, the brawny Fiend coughed up everything he knows, fearing the human would tear his other limbs as he has done to the human youths.
'Are the humans this fearful? why don't I know?'
Listening to the brawny Fiends information—Gin, Shaun, Luna, and Feal—all their expression changed.
They knew everything now; the battle which happened outside between humans and Fiends, how the Fiend minions arrived at the second level and their numbers.
Later, why they divided into six groups? How Darkfang and 1000 Fiends minions all fled in different directions, encountering three-eyed Gorilla's group, whose strength rivaled that of Seal opening stage practitioners who opened 2 hidden seals.
According to the brawny Fiend, they lost more than 150 Fiend minions at the hands of three-eyed gorillas.
The number 'six thousand', frightened every one of them; if they meet such an overwhelming number of fiends, they couldn't even imagine the outcome.
Dying is one thing but getting caught is different.
Unlike Fiend minions who were handpicked and personally trained by some Fiend experts from birth, most humans who came to the ruins are from the surrounding regions, while only 2000 some youths are from the core regions.
But now, they were scattered across the beast garden. Maybe some of them have already died in Fiend's hands. Even if humans group up, they won't be as united as Fiends.
Everyone looked deflated, while some kind of suffocating feeling enveloped them.
"Let's go, we should be more careful from now on and watch each other's back. We don't want to confront another Fiend group in our current state." Gin spoke while Luna and Feal went to call their other two friends.
Gin searched Darfang's body and found quite a few things; a silver token, a ring, two axes which he used in the battle, and a small square plate size of one's palm.
Tossing away the two axes, he collected the other stuff and asked Shaun about the ring and small square plate.
"It's a space type artifact and a crappy one at that," Shaun spoke looking at the ring.
Then he looked at the square plate and said, "Interesting...if I am not wrong, this thing here is a communication tool."
Shaun explained the uses of the communication tool to Gin and how to use the space ring.
A communication tool is a group messaging device, using which they can read the long-distance message but it will only work within a certain range.
For example, the fiends can freely communicate within the ruin. Ironically, the communication bracelet invented by humans went black as soon as they entered the ruin.
Not only in this ruin but the communication bracelet doesn't work in any ruin as they lose networks inside the ruin.
Gin played with the square plate in his hand, lost in thought, a sudden thought struck him. 'Wait...If the Fiends are confident enough to divide themselves into groups, then it means they have a way to regroup.'
He quickly asked the brawny Fiend who was mentally preparing himself to die. The sudden question startled him a little, but he truthfully replied:
"I don't know about that, but apart from leader Darkfang I am sure none of us had this type of square plate."
His words confirmed Gin's speculation. If he's correct, like Fiend Darkfang the other Fiend group leaders possess a similar communication tool.
It means this communication tool is the key that links them together; maybe they can track each other's position.
Gin's eyes gleamed a plan formed on his head while a smile crept across his face. He quickly called Shaun and shared his findings.
It really astonished Shaun, he eagerly asked: "What are we going to do?"
Both Gin and Shaun discussed their plans and what's going to be their next step?
"First, we need to destroy the fiend corpses and any signs of battle that took place here. None should know what transpired here!" Gin spoke.
"We can't just bury more than 100 Fiends in the ground." Shaun shook his head. "We need a better option..."
At that moment, Luna and the other three girls came back. The girl Tish looked alright, except for quivering hands.
Hearing the problem they were facing, Luna uttered, "I have something here which can destroy everything without any evidence!"
She took out a small orb and gave it to Gin. "It can destroy everything within a 5-meter radius."
"Why do you have something like this?" Gin asked, curious. 'Could it be she foresaw that they would have a lot of corpses to destroy?'
"I...I stole it from my sister's room" Luna said and playfully stuck her tongue out.
Hearing her words, Feal glared at Luna like they were saying, 'Wait and see...I will definitely report it to your sister.'
"What's her actual age?" Gin quietly asked the girl named Dea, who was standing next to him.
"Fourteen," Dea replied, admitting Luna is still a child.
They quickly gathered all the Fiend corpses in one place. As for the brawny Fiend, he was buried underneath all the corpses, alive.
"How do I use this thing?" Gin asked.
"You can just throw it, but make sure to maintain a distance of 10-meter," Luna said while Gin nodded and did as she said.
As soon as the orb touched the corpse, it burst and released silver-white fumes that slowly corroded everything around it.
'Ahhhhh!'
The brawny Fiend suddenly screamed, but his scream tone downed as seconds passed. Within a minute, everything within the 5-meters radius vaporized.
Nothing remained, not even the ashes. As for the three human youths who were tortured and killed by the Fiends, Gin and Shaun buried them under a tree.
"What are we going to do now?" Luna asked and Gin explained the plan both he and Shaun devised.
Hearing the plan, Luna's group was speechless. 'Why is his thought process completely different from others?'
"Y-you want us to confront the Fiends?" Luna asked, wide-eyed.
"Yes," Gin then told them about the communication tool and asked: "Does anyone here know how to use this thing well?"
"I know," Luna spoke," Actually, it's pretty easy. Anyone can use it by injecting essence energy."
"Then, you will be responsible for this." Gin handed the square plate to Luna and spoke: "Check if there's any recent communication."
As soon as Luna injected her essence energy into the square plate, all kinds of messages popped up on it like that of a messaging app.
"What does it say?" Shaun asked.
"See for yourselves," Luna said and showed it to others.
Reading the messages, Gin and others were perplexed. Because, like the Darkfang group, other Fiend groups were also assaulted by magical beasts group stronger them.
It means, the Fiends were particularly targeted by a prominent force present in the ruin.
'What if they were also targeted?' Just this notion sent a chill down their spines. Since they didn't face any such situation, it means that power doesn't target them.
The Fiend named Zhyler already called Darkfang a few times, since Darkfang was occupied in the battle before he got killed, he didn't reply.
Soon, the Fiend Zhyler sent another message: "Raz, you are the closest to Darkfang's location so your group will be responsible to find him. Be careful!"
"I think we are being targeted by the force governing this ruin, so we should gather together. First, regroup with the group nearest to you for your safety."
"Raz, you need to travel south-east to reach Darkfang's location." Zhyler's message popped.
"Hadeon, you just have to travel north to reach my location. Ares, you move in a north-east direction to meet with Jela."
"After regrouping send me the status. If you meet any humans, don't rush to kill, capture them first, and wait for my command." Zhyler ordered.
'I am right, this Fiend named Zhyler can detect other five Fiend's position.' Gin mused. This Zhyler should be the leader of this expedition as he can command all the Fiend minions including Darkgang and others.
"They even know our location?" Tish showed a panicked expression, as she just escaped from the jaws of a Fiend.
"What to do, another Fiend group is marching towards our direction?" Feal nervously asked.
"Will we be able to send a message using this tool?" Gin pondered for a moment and asked.
"Yes, but we need the blood of the communication tool's owner." Hearing Luna's reply, all of them froze.
'If I have known beforehand, I would have at least kept his body intact.' Gin thought, glancing at the spot where they vaporized the Fiend corpses.
