บท 365: I see you've found someone
The girls in the auditorium sighed full of love as the cameraman started to show Si Xia, starting from his neatly polished shoes and working his way up.
Chen was impressed by how perfect Xia looked. No one who saw him now could tell that he had been at the venue since the afternoon, getting everything ready for Zenghai's proposal, which was a surprise not only to Hua, but to almost everyone present at the event.
Chen was giddy as the camera was almost to Xia's face. She couldn't wait to see how everyone would react.
But the effect was more dramatic than what Chen had anticipated. The camera slowly moved upwards from Xia's perfectly muscular chest, the silver brooch shining on it towards his neck. There was a collective gasp in the auditorium as the camera focused on Xia's neck before moving up to his face, which seemed set in stone.
Si Xia was unaware of all the shocked faces as he smartly walked upto the anchor, who seemed to be in a daze as she handed him the pen, and signed his name on the wall of fame. The most obvious spot had been saved for him on the wall.
"Are you okay? You look a bit pale? Someone? Please bring a bottle of water for our most wonderful host here." Si Xia spoke worriedly as he handed the pen back to the anchor.
"I think you will be saving this spot for someone else very soon." he said, nodding with a smile towards the direction of the spot where he had signed.
The host recovered herself and drank water from the bottle she had just been handed. She spoke with a smile, "Does that mean yours might not be the no. 1 company this year?"
Si Xia replied with a mysterious smile, "I'm not suggesting anything. What I meant was there are quite a few youngsters now-a-days in the tech industry. Who knows? You might be saving this spot for one of them in the coming years."
The anchor laughed, "You sound like an old man President Si. But you're a youngster yourself. And from what I can see, you've found another youngster whom you like very much."
Si Xia frowned upon this last remark. He followed the anchor's gaze and touched the spot on his neck she was looking at.
Xia's mind raced as he whipped out his phone, opened the camera and looked at his neck in it.
Si Xia: "..." *internally* "So this is what the devil was doing!!!!"
Inside the auditorium, Yu Chen laughed out loud upon seeing Si Xia's expression.
He had been so preoccupied the whole day that Xia hadn't noticed the bite mark on his neck, clearly visible above his shirt collar.
Chen stopped laughing after getting weird looks from the people sitting around her and focused her attention back on the screen, where Si Xia was deflecting all of the host's question about his girlfriend quite skillfully.
Yu Chen giggled seeing Xia's blush growing deeper and deeper.
He always made her blush and her cheeks heat. It was nice to see the roles reversed for a change.
Si Xia felt like digging a hole to disappear as the anchor finally let him off the hook and allowed him to proceed inside.
