บท 257: He was worried!!!
Huo Zenghai said as he hurriedly shoved his tablet out of the way, "Yeah. Chen has turned a bit too childish. I miss our mother hen."
Yu Chen chuckled as Xi Hua flicked Zenghai's forehead and said, "If you miss her so much, how about trying to become the father hen? Or at least, a little more mature?"
Huo Zenghai stuck out his tongue and grabbed Xi Hua. Yu Chen watched in amusement as Zenghai tickled Hua all over and she tried in vain to free herself.
Finally, when Hua was laughing so hard that she was crying, Zenghai let her go.
The two plopped down on chairs on either side of Chen and Hua said, "Damn you Zenghai. Look at my clothes!"
Huo Zenghai smiled devilishly, "I think you look sexy."
In the middle, Yu Chen clasped her hands over her ears, "Take it to the bedroom you both!!!!"
"Aaannnndddddd.....our mother hen is back!!" Xi Hua said as she got up.
Yu Chen rolled her eyes and turned to Zenghai as Hua headed towards her room to change and get ready, "So, you have the day off? No work today?" Chen asked.
Huo Zenghai snapped his fingers, "Oh yeah. That reminds me! I couldn't reach Xia yesterday! Do you know why that would be?"
Yu Chen froze for a second before she tilted her head, "Couldn't reach him? When?"
Zenghai: "I couldn't sleep after all the commotion you caused. So I got up to work on a new project. That's when I needed to ask him something and he should have been awake, as not much time had passed, but his phone was switched off."
Yu Chen bit her lip. Si Xia had switched off his phone because she had been calling him non-stop. She said, "Did you try today?"
Huo Zenghai shook his head. "Try now. He should pick up." Chen said.
Zenghai took out his mobile and dialled Xia's number, "Hey, you're right!! It's ringing! Hey Xia....." Zenghai started talking on the call as it connected. He got up and walked out of the kitchen.
Yu Chen sat in thought for some time before she got up, walked over to the fridge and grabbed two beers. She then walked into the living room, and sure enough, Huo Zenghai was there, but still talking. His eyes fell on Chen as she entered and he said, "Yeah. Actually, she's here. Wanna talk?"
Saying this he thrust his phone towards Yu Chen who had just set the two beer cans on the table.
Yu Chen took the phone with a pleasantly surprised expression. Si Xia had been asking about her!?!? This must mean he jad forgiven her. No, no. Yu Chen shook her head, she mustn't go that far. Maybe he hadn't forgiven her, but he was worried. A bright smile spread across Chen's face as she placed the phone next to her ear.
"Hello?" She said, her voice trembling due to anticipation. But all she heard was the beep that meant that the call had disconnected.
She sighed as she gave the phone back to Zenghai and said, "The call disconnected. Who was it?"
Yu Chen knew this question was stupid, but she did not want to get her hopes up by assuming it was Si Xia.
