บท 179: He won't be angry at me
Huo Zenghai gave Xi Hua a shy smile as he turned towards Chen with a surprised look.
Huo Zenghai: "I'll admit I don't video call you as often as Hua, but still, you look like a completely different person."
Yu Chen: "So Hua, do you now recognise my make-up skills?"
Huo Zenghai: "That's make-up? No shit!"
Yu Chen: "Anyway, you both hurry and find a good restaurant. I'll go and pick up Xia."
Huo Zenghai: "I'll bet he won't recognise you."
Yu Chen looked down and said, "Maybe. Come on, go."
Saying this, she shoved the two out of the office before she came out herself.
Xi Hua and Huo Zenghai headed downstairs as Yu Chen headed towards the top floor.
She really wished for Si Xia to recognise her, but how could he? He had seen her only once after she came back, and they used to talk the least while she was abroad.
As Yu Chen was lost in her thoughts, the elevator dinged. She had arrived on the top floor. Yu Chen stepped out and walked on. She looked around as she walked. The top floor was relatively small, it had only three rooms, Si Xia's office, a meeting room and an office for his assistants.
Yu Chen walked over to the end of the corridor, towards the largest room, Si Xia's office. Yu Chen took a few deep breaths and was about to knock when the door across the corridor opened and a man walked out.
The man looked at Yu Chen with a surprised expression. He said, "Do you need anything, miss?"
Yu Chen smiled at him and said, "I wanted to talk to Mr. Si."
The man, who was apparently his assistant, said, "I'm sorry Miss, but the president is heading out for lunch soon and cannot meet you. I can check his schedule and give you an appointment."
Yu Chen: "Can't you do anything? I just need a few minutes of his time."
The man looked at Yu Chen up and down. He finally said, "What should I say to him?"
Yu Chen thought hard. She wanted to surprise Xia so she could not give her name.
Yu Chen said, "Tell him that it's really urgent and I will only take up two minutes."
The assistant thought that the young woman in front of him was weird, but nevertheless he stepped inside Xia's office.
The office was soundproof, so Yu Chen could not hear what was going inside. But she was not worried, if the plan did not work, all she had to do was blow her cover.
After a while, the assistant came out and said, "You can go in. He has agreed to see you."
Yu Chen smiled and began to walk inside.
Just as she was about to open the door, the assistant said, "Miss, be careful. The boss....well, he's angry that he was disturbed."
Yu Chen said with a smile on her face, "Thank you for looking out for me. But don't worry. I'll be fine. He won't be angry at me."
Saying this, she left a very shocked assistant in the hallway as she opened the door and went in.
Standing outside the door, Xing Chuan thought, "Who is this girl? How come she's so confident? I just hope that she will be all right."
