But Mo Kio's mother's reaction was just the opposite of his father. She was coming down the stairs as she saw her son entering with a face full of cuts and bruises. She was more angry at the lack of reaction her husband had. She ran down towards Mo Kio and said, her face full of worry, "Kio, Kio what happened?" As she began to try and see how many wounds he had, Mo Kio brushed her hand. "Mom, I'm okay. Just some small scratches, I will get them cleaned when I get back."
Mrs. Mo: "You are going out, with so many wounds?!?!?!"
Mo Kio laughed, "Mom don't be over dramatic, this is probably the least wounds I have jad after getting into a fight."
Mrs. Mo: "But why now? You had been such a good boy for the previous two weeks."
Mo Kio: "What can I say? I am b bad boy."
Mrs. Mo: "Oh shut up. Where are you going out that's so important?"
Mo Kio: "It's a secret mission." He winked. Mrs. Mo laughed as Mo Kio kissed her on the cheek and went towards his room.
She sat down beside her husband, "He is happy." Mr. Mo folded the paper he was reading, "Yeah. He is the happiest he has been after getting into a fight."
Mrs. Mo punched him lightly, "You know that's not what I meant." Mr. Mo smiled, "I know. It seems the void in his heart is filling itself." Mrs. Mo looked towards Mo Kio's room, "I wish I knew the reason."
Mr. Mo smiled, "I do. And she is nice."
Mo Kio went up to his home and took off his uniform. Then he wore a t-shirt with his denim jacket and jeans. He smiled at Uncle Leo while coming down who seemed to be coming up with his lunch. Said goodbye to his parents, got on his bike and rode off.
He rode to the Yuan mansion and got off his bike, then he took some deep breaths and went in. But at the entrance was stopped by the guards. They asked him, "Who are you?" looking at all the wounds on his faces.
Mo Kio's aura turned dark. He looked at the guards up and down and smiled. When he did so the guard felt that the devil himself was smiling before passing his judgement. Mo Kio asked, "What's your name?" The guard was flustered, "Why do you want my name?" "Oh no reason, just so that when I go back home, I can make you lose your job for stopping me." he said nonchalantly.
The guard gulped. His instincts were telling him that the boy in front of him was no ordinary boy and any little doubt he might have had was removed by Mo Kio's sentence. The guard opened the gate and let him in. Just as Mo Kio walked in, Yuan Zuan came outside. She smiled, "Mo Kio, so you really came?" Then her face turned concerned, "How did you get these wounds?" Mo Kio waved his hand and went in.
The guards that had listened to the conversation let out a yelp. Mo Kio, the child of the great Mo family. They were glad they did not cross him.
