Nothing could explain the sadness Karen felt. Donald's treatment plan was not sufficient, and he was isolating himself from everyone except for Edie. Karen looked at Edie, and a pang of guilt shot through her. "Yes, I was worried about Donald, and since I was in the area, I thought I'd stop by and check on him. Then I saw you and wanted to come over and say hello." Karen smiled politely.

Edie nodded with a smile and said, "Yes, it has been a long time since we have seen each other last, Miss. Karen. We should go for lunch sometime. I'm sorry, I'm in a hurry. It's getting late, and I have to get home. We should talk soon, okay?"
