Feeling like she had knelt on the ground for the whole day. She felt lost sitting there outside of her forest but also outside of his land not quite in either world. That same feeling digging down in her gut. Those same voices that has always been there when she is in an uncomfortable situation, 'you know he is not coming back.' 'You know he does not want you.' 'You know you pushed him away, never there when he needed you.' 'You know he never wanted to be your friend.'
Her hand flew up to her head, 'go away.' Balling her hands into fists shaking her head, 'Go away.' Tears started to streak down her face. 'Go Away!'
Panic started to stir in her chest. The pressure is starting, 'I have to calm down.' The hole was there again, 'I have to calm down.' That gapping hole is growing. 'I have to calm down.' 'Why does he have to leave every year.' Her chest's pressure grow, the feeling the nothing was growing tying her to the spot threatening her to root her to that very spot. The heaviness feels like it will crush her alive.
Wait…
She opened her eyes. Her body was heavier. The extra weight was the thorny vines that was wrapped tightly around her shoulders and chest. Blinking again feeling her self calm down just a bit the fog of the panic and voices subsided just a little. It was enough to see her powers were out of control. 'I have to breath.' Closing her eyes again but this time she she focused on the black behind her eye lids, trying to center herself again.
Breath in…..
Breath out….
Breath in….
Breath out….
Opening her eyes once again but calmly and clearly this time she saw just how much of the vines had wrapped around her and these vines had thorns. Looking at her arms she saw blood trickling down in slow drops. 'What are these vines?' Looking at the vine a bit closer the vine itself was a yellowish green. It almost looked sick. Now more focused on the vines she was able to loosen them. At this point she realized just how tight they were. 'Wow, how bad was I not to notice all the thorns digging into my skin.'
Once the vine had fully let go of her, she sighed half tiredness half releasing pain. But before she could grab a piece of vine it had retreated back into the soil.
Putting her hands flat against the dirt pulling all the magic she had to make those vines reappear. No luck. It was like they had never been there in the first place. The only evidence was all the wounds on her arms, shoulders, and legs. 'I need to clean up myself before I go back. I do not need more questions that I do not have the answers to.' Letting out a heavy sigh she picked herself up making way to Darwin's house.
Her hand touched the latch of the door. She pushed the door open. They never locked it because Darwin knew sometime she liked to come and sit without people around her. The house was empty of people but their furniture was still there. 'They are coming back.' She walked over to a chair she likes to sit in that looks out a window. Looking she could see the barron field that grow many vegetables that has feed many people through the years.
She tucked her feet under herself and laid her head on her knees closing her eyes wanting to see him soon….
