My mom always said, "Don't get your hopes up, this is life, not a fairytale." It May have sounded harsh. Now looking back..I proved her wrong. My mother was pretty harsh, but was the sweetest mom ever. Don't get it? Not one of those average moms. She loved to read me fairytales, but I got older and didn't believe in fairytales anymore. So when I would come home crying she would comfort me, for a few minutes then say, "This is life, not a fairytale." I felt like I took all her happiness away from not believing in those stories. So I started to pretend to believe in them. It made her happy, but it wasn't the happiest I've seen her, it's like she knew I was pretending. My mother and I soon got in a better relationship. We spent more time together. Now your hearing something off, aren't you? Where's my dad? Oh...I was 4 and my parents and I went shopping. We were having fun. My dad said he left his wallet in the car. I watched him through the window. He got out of the car walking to the door, but then 6 men appeared. It seemed like they would kill him if he didn't give the wallet over. My dad was brave enough to keep the wallet in his hand. Then I saw the most dreadful thing in my life. My dad was shot by a gun. I was shocked. I didn't move for a second. And then tears came down my eyes. My mom rushed over and saw me crying. She asked what was wrong. I pointed to the dead body of my dad. She reacted the same way I did. Then the cashier saw us, and asked he what was wrong. My mom told him what had happened and the cashier called 911. My dad didn't make it. On from that my mom was a single parent and worked so hard for me. She had a few boyfriends but quickly saw I wasn't happy. She knew that no one could replace my dad. So she stopped dating and carried on in life. I was off to college and was going to dorm. I was so excited. My mother was very supportive. But then my heartbeat was broken. I thought of how my dad died. What if while I was away that happened to my mom?! I didn't want to loose both. I was already so depressed. I told her how I felt. He gave me a crooked smile. She told me that everything will be just fine. The Uber drove me to the college. As I checked in to the school, I noticed that I would have a roommate who would probably comfort me. The lady at the front desk smiled and said my room was ready. She handed me a paper of who my roommate is. I thanked her and walked up the stairs to my room. I promised myself I would see the person first and then look at the name. As I walked in it was quiet. "Hello?" I walked around the room. Two beds. A small table with two chairs. A Tv. A sink and a bathroom door. I knocked on the door. "Um..Hello?" The door opened. A tall handsome boy stood there. He was...wearing a towel over his...behind. He was in shock. I blushed and ran to my bed. "I'm so sorry!" I screamed. He laughed. "Let me get dressed and I'll introduce myself properly." He said. He walked out of the bathroom fully dressed. "I'm Nick"He said. I blushed and said, "I'm Ariel." "I'm sorry that was really awkward!" He laughed. "It's fine, did you know you're very pretty?" He asked. He walked closer to me and twirled my hair. I blushed but pulled away. He offered me a drink. I went drunk. IT WAS ALCOHOL OK?! I t-thought it was grape juice, ok?! I woke up in his bed. "Huh?!" "EEEE!!" I fell off the bed. He smiled and offered his hand. I took the offer. He helped me up. "Sorry I'm clumsy." I said. He smiled. "I can tell." He replied. "I-" He shushed me. I think I fainted or something. But when I woke up he was asleep and it was 1:57 a.m. So I went back to sleep...
