After we disembark from the plane, the long queue started again for checkout in Sydney airport. We were standing on the queue when Skye started the conversation.
"I'm sure, Mom said to be nice to Aunty and she will not turn into a witch. She always called Aunt Hazel a witch.. That's why I was a bit confused when Ash mentioned that Aunty is nice."
"Hang on, are you talking about the Aunty that we are going to stay with for the next couple of months? Do we need to tread carefully and walk on eggshells the whole time we're there?" I asked.
"Don't be silly! You know, Mom and her descriptions." she answered.
We got nearer to the border security, as we kept talking about the story about her Mom and Aunty. Apparently they had been in competition since their teens. Unfortunately, they compete with each other too much, the result is not very good, hence the name calling.
We got our suitcases from the conveyor and wheeled it in front of the border security and it' Skye's turn, I stood behind her and waited my turn. I didn't wait long then it's my turn. After that we were pulling our luggage out the airport, but before we can get out completely, we heard someone calling my name. We turned around and we're quite surprised to see Ash, running after us with just a big backpack.
"Hey, I thought I wouldn't catch you in time.." He started, "Do you have a ride to Bondi?" he asked.
Skye answered, "No, we're staying in Ridges for the night and take the train to Bondi tomorrow."
"Ok. Cool, Ridges is just across the road. Would you like to have a cuppa with me before we part? I'm taking the train today at 12.15. I still got plenty of time to kill and there's McDonald's in the corner, my treat."
He send me that signature smile he got and I just nodded.
"Do you need help with your bag?" he asked.
Before I can answer, my interfering BFF offered. "If Wynter doesn't want you to carry her luggage, mine is a bit too heavy."
I smiled at Ash and said, "Thanks for offering, Ash, Skye needs help with her luggage, can you help her instead please?"
His smile widens and answered, "Sure, can!"
Then all three of us are walking around the corner to McDonald's.
After we find a table for three, I heard Ash ask, "Are you hungry?" looking at me.
"Actually, I am! I'm famished! Can you get me a fillet of fish and chips, maybe just a small meal please?" I heard Skye answer without looking at us and started rummaging through her backpack and produce some money. She's got no idea..
Ash just look at me and took her money. "Wynter, would you like something?" he asked me again.
"I'm not really hungry yet, maybe just a strawberry sundae please." I gave him a big smile then started to grab my wallet from my backpack but he refused my money.
I watch as Ash stood up and went to the counter to order our food. He is wearing a slim fitting gray t-shirt and blue jeans and black Chucks. His athletic body hugs his clothes really well.
"That's one fine tush, Girl! Tell me you're interested, cause I won't pass on that!" Skye nodded her head towards Ash as she was talking, checking out his behind.
"Geez, Skye, you didn't just tell me that?Have some decorum! You're getting out of hand!" I told her in a stern voice.
"Ok Mom, I will behave from now on!" she teased.
" Shut up, I'm not your Mom, please just act normal!" I advised.
"Girl, if I ain't normal, then no one is! I got two good eyes and I'm using them" she said, then look up as Ash came back to our table with the food.
He gave us our order and sat in front of me. He kept looking at me then started the conversation.
"So, what are your plans for the spring? Is this your first time in Australia?" Asked Ash. The way he said Australia sounds like Straya.
"Yes it is, but Skye here is a frequent visitor because she have family here." I answered truthfully.
"Cool, well if you needed a guided tour, just shoot me a text. Is it alright to ask your number? I can give you my number too." he offered, and I handed him my phone.
I watch him put his number and added it to my contacts then he pressed call. Couple of second after I heard his phone ring then he turned off the call. "There you go, now you got my number!"
