บท 20: In Trouble Again!!!
Sab look at sleeping man as she lay down the bed. He became extremely quiet when they woke-up. Thinking that this might be because he was not feeling well, she stares at his back quietly.
When she felt his breathing was heavy, she sat down to check his temperature. When she confirmed that the man still burning from fever, she left the bed to get a towel and cold water.
She sighs while gently wiping the man's face. Though she is very hesitant and afraid of the man, she can't just ignore his conditions. She is still thankful of him for saving her even if she felt trapped in their situation.
He still has an hour before he can take another pill of medicine. If she'll go out now to buy food, she'll be able to get back on time.
Since they live in main city near the business area, there are a lot of stores and restaurants that still be opened 24/7. She plans to buy hot soup or any light foods for Tom.
She wore a quite oversize slightly thick jacket and look at the man who is fully covered with quilt even if the room temperature was dry. She quietly left after making sure that he is comfortable.
Initially, she thought that the man was a vegetarian but learn that he just preferred eating good and healthy food. He still eats meat and seafood especially if the restaurant doesn't serve 100% vegetarian food which made it easier for her to choose the restaurant to check on.
She sat at the corner of a Chinese restaurant while waiting for her takeaways. Not sure if just an illusion, but she felt someone was looking at her.
The restaurant was quiet and very cosy. It's already 2:30 am in the morning, there were only a few people in the restaurant. She felt weird but decided to ignore it to enjoy the scenery of the place.
She used to work in this kind of place but never get the chance to enjoy the ambience. Her goal before was to make sure the customer enjoys it, not her. Being a fake wife of Tom was not really bad idea at all.
Though she didn't get to experience the real happiness of having someone by your side romantically yet but at least she was not suffering as before. While waiting, she unconsciously kept checking on the time. After some time, the waitress respectfully gave all her orders with a smile.
Since her mind was only filled with the thought of going back the soonest possible can, she did not notice the group of drunken men approaching and bump on one of them.
"Hey, little girl… are you blind? Or you want to hit on one of us that's why you intentionally bump on us?
Sab instantly felt scared and disgusted on what she heard. She immediately apologizes and turns around to leave but one of the men grab the collar of her jacket and pulled her.
Her eyes widened as she struggled to get free. She didn't say a word. These men were already too drunk and she doesn't want to trigger them.
Some of the customers nearby already see what's happening but none of them bothers to say anything. She saw the waitress who gave her the food and signal for help, the man grabbing her saw this let out evil and provocative laughter.
"Little girl, no one will help you. Why don't you just sit for a while and serve us? We'll never disappoint you and make sure that you will enjoy it," he signals the waitress and requested a private room.
The other men also laugh as they drag her. She struggled all her might while trying to call 911 when one of the men saw what she was intending to do.
"You…" he grabbed the phone and angrily pointing at her. "You misbehaving bitch, I'll teach you later and make sure you'll know how to behave properly."
"Help!!! Help!!!" Sab called out in panic after losing her last chance. People around noticing the situation a while ago look away and turned a blind eye and mute.
Her small body trembled in fear, she struggled even more and called out for help louder to attract more attention. The restaurant door was closed and only those insides can really help her.
The restaurant manager and the servers did nothing as well as they saw her being dragged upstairs in the private room.
The four men surrounded her as they were dragging her, she looked around and saw a man approaching. She gathered her strengths and kick the man holding her and ran to the man for help.
She thug his dark gray coat and pleaded. "Help me.. help me.. help me…"
All the four men almost move at the same time and tried to capture her but because their stands are already unstable it was easier for Sab to escape from them.
The man she kicked who seemed to be the leader came forward angrily and tried to grab her but she quickly moves to hide behind the man's back.
The drunk man become angrier and curse her momentarily and would say something to the man just arrived become suddenly silent and left in few seconds together with other men almost running.
Sab who's hiding from behind unable to see how pale the faces of the four men when they recognized Henry. He is both known from the real world and underworld who is very successful in business world and underworld.
He who just new in the underworld with little background from the bigger group can be just easily take down in less than an hour if the man wants to. That's why in an instant all of them runaway immediately from the devil hoping that he will not recognize them or they will die soon.
Seeing the man running away like cowards, she thought that the man in front could be an out of duty police officer or else those four will not act up like they were never been drunk running like a scared lab rat.
She distances herself a little to thank to the man properly when she notices that she's still tagging the lower part of his coat.
She shyly removes her little hand and looked at the man who now looking down at her with blank face but she felt that those dark eyes were angry at her.
"I'm sorry for troubling you officer and thank you for helping me today. I might have been in great danger if it weren't for you," not just by words, but Sab really felt thankful at the man. She meant every word and feeling really emotional. Her eyes even become teary but she refused to let it go since she's in the pubic area.
Henry was really angry at the little girl. He has been investigating about this little girl for quite a while now but he is unable to learn anything about her and now out of nowhere she appeared before him again in a much worst situation.
He hated that she's a trouble magnet and he can't do anything since he knew nothing. Seeing her getting emotional now only means she was scared to death and no one step in to help her. He can't imagine what could happen to get if he wasn't around.
He would definitely won't let go of those bastards who tried to take advantage of her. He wants to scold her for being so reckless going out in the middle of the wearing only a little oversize coat. Though most of her skin were covered, as a man, he can guess that she only wearing a little behind it.
Hearing her calling him officer also added in his distress. "Did this little girl not recognize her last time and thought of him as a police officer?"
When the man did not reply, Sab then bid goodbye. Her heart still thumping of fear when she went out of the restaurant. She looked around to make sure that the guys who just assaulted her is no loner in sight. Though the house is just 10 minutes walked, she decided to ride a taxi.
Henry followed her and rode a taxi as well to follow the little girl. Since their first encounter, he will go back to the convenience store every night hoping to see her again but the little girl never came back. And in the morning, he will ask someone to wait and report if she will come there.
In the house, Tom woken-up by a call from the bodyguard he hired to follow-up Sab. He already resolved the gangster issue but he never trusted them so he hired a bodyguard to make sure of her safety.
He got-up upon hearing that Sab went out to buy food but got assaulted by drunken men, He instructed his men to protect the little wife and was about to get out of the door when he was informed that someone interrupted and help her.
Seeing the picture was captured his eyes were bloodshot seeing the man by her side. "Was this matter just a coincidence?" he thought. He seems to be always there too when she's in trouble. Nonetheless, he was thankful and agitated at the same time for not being by her side when she needed it most.
He waited in front of the door for the wife arrival. She should be here in less than 5 minutes but no one is arriving. He called the body guard again and learned that the wife already arrived and now sitting in front of the gate, unmoving.
He also learned that Henry followed her and now sitting inside the taxi near his house.
Henry patiently waited for the little girl to wait in the house. He wanted to get close but he doesn't want her to misunderstood his actions and scare her away.
