บท 15: Revealing their relationship
Sab's face darkened as she sits inside the doctor's clinic. This is supposed to be her first day of work, but this guy insisted to go to the hospital even though she assured that there's nothing wrong with her.
Tom just look at her expressionless and then turn his attention to the female doctor to explain what happened. She undergone different tests unwillingly. This was not her first time to get into any accidents or injured herself and during those times, she never went to hospital even for check-up.
Though she admitted that it was a little scary for not able to move for a while, she's still unwilling to have her body check. She hates hospital the most due to her parent's incident. If it's nothing serious, she prefers to handle it by herself.
Alvin and the other two secretaries excitedly and warmly greet Tom as soon as they see him. Alvin felt relieved of his arrival. There are documents he needs to review asap and important meetings he must attend.
Recalling about the short call from Tom earlier, he wanted to beat the man for not giving him reason or much information. After saying he won't be able to work and push everything, he ended the call just like that.
In the end, he was in dilemma whether to re-schedule the meetings in few hours, day or not. Seeing the little girl walked from behind, his eyes glittered as he scanned them. Tom's necktie was quite off, and the little girl dress was a bit crumpled. "These two are too obvious. It seems they had a morning jog that's why they arrived late in the office!" he giggled inside thinking of the possibility.
He then greeted the little girl with teasing bright smile but when he saw Tom's clouded face and sharp looked, his smile instantly faded. His heart beat stops for a while seeing the dark mood of Tom. "Did I get it wrong?".
Sab gave a sweet smile as well, not hiding her excitement. It was an honest and innocent smile that caught everyone's attention. Aside from working in an office environment, she must look and dress-up a little nicer unlike before that she must wear the store uniform or need to wear an apron or big colourful jacket or funny hat.
Tom dark face become darker seeing the beautiful smile of Sab. He can't understand why he felt that those smiles shouldn't be given to anyone easily. That it should only belong to him. He wanted to grab and hide her in his embrace but stops himself in the process.
Sab was busy admiring the office surroundings including the two secretaries who dressed fashionably and didn't notice anything wrong. She finished college in an unknown school for the sake of diploma and tried to apply in small and big companies but because the competition is tough nowadays and lack of experience, all she received so far was "Thank you for your interest."
"Hi Alvin, good morning!
"Hi! I'm Sab. Nice to meet you both."
"Good morning!" greeted by the two secretaries in one voice and with half smile.
"I'm Ana" said the taller and slimmer secretary.
"I'm Bing" said the smaller but voluptuous secretary.
Ana and Bing have two different character of beauties. Aside from that, they really look smart and fashionably professionals. Ana is wearing dress quite revealing but still surprisingly looks decent and formal while Bing was wearing light grey spaghetti shirt and white high-waist trousers, she looked very elegant and captivating.
She can't help checking on herself. Though she's wearing the dress and 2-inch white sandal from Tom, she only felt comfortable. Good thing that she dressed-up today or else Tom will surely throw a fit on her.
Though they don't plan on revealing their relationship to everyone, she still needs to look decent in front of some people.
Both secretaries silently observing Sab. Thinking if she is a young miss from rich family. They recognize the dress and shoes she's wearing and wanted to buy them for themselves, but those items are limited and really expensive.
As Executive Secretary, their pay is already higher than others in the industry. They also get generous amount of bonus if they deliver great results. However, both refused to sacrifice their 1-week fashion of clothing in one-piece limited dress only. Each peace of clothing they are buying is not cheap at all and mostly they buy them when on sale.
Seeing how the dress elegantly curve and flows in just light movements of Sab, both cursed inside in envy. The huge handmade white embroidery design on the side was so detailed that can give a person a personality effortless. The dress looks simply but enhances every curve line on woman's body. From the very start, they knew that the price was worth spending.
Sab wanted to say something on Alvin, but Tom grabbed her waist without saying anything and led her to his office, almost dragging. She was so surprised and unable to say a word. Is he exposing their relationship? He was the one who said to shut-up but now he was holding her as if nothing? Her career work was now ruined. She can't help but cursed inside.
The 3 people were shocked as well seeing how closed Tom with Sab especially Ana and Bing. Both have their own mini competition to come in the office like a runaway model thinking that Tom will notice them one day and give them a chance to be Mrs. Del Monte. Almost all their salary spent on buying the latest fashion of dress, shoes, jewelry and bags.
Even their credit cards were all max out due to their unreasonable spending. Seeing how intimate their boss with Sab, their curiosity risen-up 100%. The girls looked at each other disbelieving what they just saw before they turned their attention to Alvin who just recovered from shocked and now looking serious in front of his computer.
He stared at the monitor pretending to work as his mind wanders. "Was he still my boss? Seriously?" He used to manage Tom past relationships and none of them came really close to him unless the man allows it. Only in rare occasion that he seen him get intimate, but all of these were initiated by the other party.
He scheduled all Tom's date and attended 95% of it on his behalf. Usually, he was only there to piss off the girls and forced them to end the relationships. Those who have been spoiled all their lives fall in this tactic but some are really smart that wouldn't mind even if they would look a laughing stock.
Due to Tom's wealth and influence, they all happily sucking up for the title "Mr. Del Monte" woman and be "Mrs. Del Monte." Who cares about others, if they can live off without worrying until their old days and even next generations? Not only them will benefit, even their whole clan will rejoice of this fact.
They even had photoshop pictures of Tom being intimate with other girls just to get rid other women's in his life. Remembering the past gives him an unimaginable pain from the girls who throw water, coffee, juice, cakes at him or beat him physically and satisfaction at the same time because every time he succeeds, Tom would reward him generously. His car was just one of Tom's generous gifts.
He snapped back when he felt a warm hand pressed on his shoulder. When he raised his head, Ana and Bing standing side by side both of their arms crossed. They have not said anything yet but their faces telling him already what they want to know from him.
His handsome face become serious and lips are sealed firmly. He grabbed the customized tablet in one hand and gave a light pushed on the two girls blocking the way and pass on them.
The two girls angrily looked each other and in one second both grabbed Alvin's elbow and pushed him back to his chair with all their strength since Alvin is taller than them and have a good physic.
"You… you better speak now!!" Ana eyes were red as if she was about to cry in any moment. She felt hurt thinking all her efforts might be in vain. She has no savings and even left her a huge amount of debt for dressing herself fashionably everyday for the man of her dream who is so known to be super aloof. Seeing him become intimate in another woman who just appeared out of nowhere is definitely not a good sign.
"We will never believe if you tell us you know nothing." Bing said this in a slow and firm version. She has strong personality and quite stubborn. He saw all the efforts of the two girls. It's just too bad that their boss did not even bat an eye on them.
Alvin answered. "The door is just few steps away. Why don't you guys ask Mr. Del Monte directly? You'll get firsthand the truth."
Both girls face reddened in anger at the sarcastic reply from Alvin. Ana lifted one hand and gave a smashed on his arm. The other one raised her foot and gave him a good kick.
Alvin handsome face contorted in pain. Before he only hears harsh word from them whenever he refused to give them information, now they even know to beat him. He might have been too good on them that they forgot to separate their private life and professional life.
But if he'll be too strict, he might really end up doing everything for the man. Except for Ana and Bing, no secretary lasted a year with them. If he can't balance between work and their boss affair, he might end-up an old man in no time.
He silently complaint deep inside. Why does he ended up taking all the beatings? He let deep sigh when the pain subsided. Surrendering on his faith. If he tries to understand these girls, he might still not be able to even in his next lifetime. He fixed himself and prepared to work again.
