บท 88: This Relationship Is Over
Girls I bumped into Bantu and spilled his drink, infact I shattered his glass as well, I decided to pay for damages but he would rather I dance with him, Desha replied to them, took her hand bag, collected her purse and kept Bantu's complimentary card inside.
Okay Desha, you should eat, your food is getting cold, while you were dancing with Bantu, we ordered food, the third girl said. Thanks girls am hungry. Desha took a sip of her orange soda and started eating. The girls also continued with their meal.
Bantu sat down, he looked at the table and asked, where is my food? he could see plates and leftovers. You were busy dancing with Desha, so I ate them, Sharu replied him. Come on Sharu, not right, Bantu stood up, about to leave.
Abumali then asked him where he was going and commented that he just got back. I need to eat, am going to order food, I know I can just call the waiter and order from here, I prefer stretching my legs, and I don't want to attract anybody to me, I have observed that those ordering from their seats are rich professors and children of the elites in the society.
Don't worry about that, I already ordered take outs for you over the bar, the waiter will be here soon to deliver it and get the bill, Abumali replied. Thanks man, Bantu responded and sat down. He then took a bottle of water, opened it and drank half of it. As he was capping it, the waiter came with the take outs and the bill.
Bantu took the takeouts from the waiter and settled the bill including that of the shattered glass. It didn't take long for the three of them to exit the Campus Groove thereafter.
Desha on the other hand continued eating, by this time, her friends had all finished their own meal. Few minutes later, she finished. The waiter came, brought the bill, then Desha paid as agreed earlier in the hostel. After paying, she ordered takeouts to eat later at night.
She knew she would be reading till day break, so she bought extra food for herself. When the waiter came back with the takeouts, she paid and the four girls exited the Campus Groove.
Few minutes after they exited Campus Groove, they bumped into Shamu. Earlier in the day, he had sex with twinkle in the university's guest house. Well, twinkle had cheated on Prakash with Shamu, after Prakash broke up with her, she continued to sleep with Shamu, she had even had 6 abortions for him.
Shamu didn't go to school but he was rich and handsome, he got his money from his late father. She and Shamu became friends with benefits over the years. Shamu needed sex frequently and Desha wouldn't give it to him
Out of frustration, he increased his need for sex from twinkle, to the point that anytime he needed to see Desha in school, he always brought twinkle to have sex with him in the university guest house. And on the days when twinkle was sick or couldn't be sexually active with him, he would help himself with prostitutes.
Shamu was surprised to see Desha, Desha of all people that has been turning down his request to take her out, she always gave the excuse of her upcoming exams and the responsibilities she had with organising the upcoming convocation with her team members.
Desha too was surprised to see him because she had expected him to leave campus after she turned him down earlier in the day when he asked to take her out, like he normally did before.
By this time Desha's friends had given them space for them to talk by waiting elsewhere. Desha I thought you were busy reading, so what are you doing here? Shamu angrily asked. And I thought you had left campus, so what are you doing here, Desha replied him with a question.
Shamu drew Desha close to him, Desha was reluctant to be close to him or hug him, so she said, just let me go Shamu, am not in the mood. You wouldn't have sex with me, now you don't want to hug nor kiss me, what happened to us? what happened to you? are you cheating on me with someone? Shamu asked Desha.
Are you cheating on me? Desha asked him aswell. Desha why must you answer my questions with questions? and why would you even think that am cheating on you? Shamu asked. Shamu I really don't have time for all this, I need to go, I was on my way to my hostel with my friends as you can see.
Desha was about leaving when Shamu dragged her back, and it hurt her hands. Shamu you hurting me, just let me go Desha protested. Her friends were not too close to her and were not aware of what was happening. I wouldn't let you go until you answer my questions, Shamu replied.
Well Shamu are you cheating on me with Sonal? Desha asked, of late you have been pestering me about her movements, her whereabouts and things about her that I don't even know of. Desha are you jealous now? Shamu asked and mocked her at the same time. Just answer me, Desha replied him
Well Desha dear, Sonal is beautiful, sexy and good in bed. You wouldn't have sex with me, so don't blame me if am attracted to her. At this point she felt both betrayed by her boyfriend and by Sonal whom she held in high esteem. Tears began to roll down Desha's cheeks. Without any word, Desha decided to leave Shamu to be with her friends.
Shamu was about to hold her again and bring her close to him but she dodge him and said, just leave me alone. As she was going, Shamu then said, if you work out on me, this relationship is over. Desha couldn't care less of that, to her she had broken up with him, he just voiced out what she was thinking about.
Shamu on the other hand decided to go with his original plans of using Desha to achieve his aim of dealing with Sonal, because Desha wasn't giving him sex and attention. He had succeeded by turning Desha against Sonal, and so far he had been able to get enough info about Sonal's work schedules for the next couple of months.
I can make do with that info, he made a mental note and went inside the Campus Grove. While inside, he drank and ate to his heart contents. He even danced a little with some campus babes before he exited and went back the guest house with takeouts for twinkle. Twinkle initially didn't want to come to the Campus Grove with him, and he was okay with that.
Back at the hostel, Desha cried her eyes out, to the point where she woke up her friends who had an early sleep, with her cries, she was acting strong when they finally left the Campus Grove earlier, her friends didn't notice anything off then, now she could not take the betrayal anymore, she broke down.
Her friends comforted her and asked her what happened. With difficulty, she explained to them what had happened and how Shamu and Sonal had betrayed her, and how she and Shamu ended their relationship on a bad note, and the worst part was that Shamu was not even remorse about it, it hurts, it really hurts, then she cried more and more.
I know it's difficult to take the betrayal, but cheer up, don't break down now, exams are around the corner, you would find someone who is worthy of you, someone much better than him, and that Sonal, am sure she didn't know you were with Shamu, but she still hurt you all the same, just forget about those two and try to avoid Sonal.
You can take PR advice from someone else, it mustn't be her, cheer up, her friends comforted her. They also tried to make her feel better by telling jokes. Thanks for cheering me up, she said to them. Desha couldn't read anymore, so after a while, she slept off. It was when her friends saw she had slept, that they went back to bed and continued their sleep.
Meanwhile at the Arora Mansion...
Sonal left Jasmine in her room and went downstairs to get dinner for the both of them, on her way, she bumped into her mum, namaste mum, Sonal greeted and touched her mum's feet. Madam Shruti touched her head and blessed her. Her mum had early dinner before Sonal and Jasmine came back to the house.
I was just about getting dinner for me and Jasmine, Sonal said. How is she fairing by the way? I know I saw you both when you arrived, but I really want to know her mental state, is she alright? madam Shruti asked. Mum I wouldn't lie to you, Jasmine has not completely gotten over Rohit yet, but so far she has made tremendous progress, she is mentally stable, that I can assure you.
Alright, what a relief, you should get the dinner now, you don't want to keep Jasmine hungry. Okay mum, Jasmine replied, but mum I would like to come to your room later tonight, concerning what I wanted to discuss with you when you called me earlier today, can I come please? Sonal asked.
Yes child, just make sure you make it brief, so you can go back to keep Jasmine company, madam Shruti replied. Okay mum, I will, I would go get the dinner now, Sonal said and moved towards the kitchen.
Sonal got the food and went back upstairs. After the girls finished eating, Sonal took the dishes and went back to the kitchen to wash them in the sink. Yes they had maids who did that, but Sonal loved cleaning up after herself.
When she was done and back upstairs, no, not to her room but to her mum's, she knocked twice on the door. Come on in, her mum spoke. Sonal opened the door and went inside. Sonal, come sit beside me, her mum urged.
Okay mum, Sonal replied and sat down, then she said, mum I was meaning to talk to you about Zara's mum and her planning for the women conference meant for the town. Yes dear go on I can hear you, what about it?
You see mum, the reason why she had a break down was because she overworked herself while planning for the women's conference. I have seen you plan for these meetings in the past, and usually, you let the others, the other women, the main organisers, your close friends come around to assist.
But for Zara's mum, I don't know because it's her first time of planning such large meetings, although I know couple of times, she has planned successful close door meetings meant for just friends, more like your tea meeting mum, mum and daughter both laughed.
After which madam Shruti spoke, dear, it may just look like tea meetings but these close door meetings we plan regularly from time to time actually do lead to the women's conference that we plan occasionally.
Okay mum but my point is, according to Zara, her mum is one who loves planning meetings and conferences on her own, even when she is need of her friend's help, she preferred to stress and get it done all on her own. And this stress, too much stress was what caused her breakdown mum.
So mum, I would suggest, why don't you and your other friends help finish the preparations for the conference. I mean Zara's mum won't be discharged until the next five days, and the conference is scheduled for next week.
That is a great idea Sonal, I would speak to my other friends, some would go visit her at the hospital while others like me would continue from where she stopped. Thanks mum, that would mean so much to me especially Zara, and mum we would like to help out, Sonal said.
Alright Sonal, the women and I will schedule something that you and the girls can assist with. Thanks again mum, I would be on my way back to my room. Excited Sonal hugged her mum and went towards her room.
